John I have tried that technique and I had to hang on for dear life because I found my brakes need just a little more distance than I thought. In fact car swapped ends and I ended up facing the wrong way next to the corner worker (who had abandoned his post when he saw me coming at him). Didn't hit anything but it I definitely got on the binders a little sooner the next time (these are split seconds we are talking about). My brakes at 125 mph need 300-400 feet to get me down to a manageable speed when hitting a hard turn. A gentle sweeping turn is different
