That's what bothers me a bit. Mcleod gives me a number of 64304-00-03
with the information of a Ford 1967 427 SO / Top loader 1 1/16" input - 10 spline. Trying to get quotes and some people come back with diff. Mcleod part numbers. Murphy what is a #14005-30 fit?

Default Stock bell housing and legs

CobraBill Any part can break on a car no matter how strong or how many rpms it is good for. These problems are called DEFECTS. How much are your legs worth? I guest not worth $350.00. As far as the shield and backing plate hanging down, alot of guys cut them at the bottom even with the bolt holes. I have seen a few clutches blown out in 1/4 mile racing, and it is amazing how much damage and how far a clutch piece and part of a flywheel travel. I saw guy lost his lower leg, cut the calf area in half at E-town about 24 years ago, I never forgot the bleeding and screaming that was going on. I have a Lakewood in every one of my toys. Total 4,Legs 2, Walking and running PRICELESS. Rick Lake

Glen, I have to agree with Rick on the scattershield. Mine is cut on the bottom so it does not hang down.

I just called McLeod (tech line 714-630-2764) to confirm that the 14005-30 is the kit with a slip on (not bolt on) T.O. bearing and hyd. cyl. that fits Tremec trans (must have the Ford imput shaft) or any top-loader trans (except the somewhat rare race version 1 3/8" imput shaft one). The bearing slips on and will work if you have a minimum of 3" from the transmission face side of the scattershield to the highest tip of the spring fingers on your pressure plate. If the distance is less than 3" mine will not work. I suggest calling McLeod and describe your setup. Let me know and I can send you a picture. Mike Murphy

The cost for the kit was $949.00 if you go with a standard throw out bearing.
