Default 429cid w/4-spd toploader & lakewood bellhousing

Having problems installing motor mounts. after mesuring back 22-1/2" from 2x2 crossmember on center of the headers the frame mounts will not square up between the top an bottom of the frame rails. when I do square them the motor and tranny are at to steep of an angle, the tranny tailshaft housing is well below the tranny crossmember. I believe the engine frame mounting plates (that has the 4-holes) are at the wrong angle.any body have this kind of issue? tommorrow I plan to see joe about this. any help would be appreciated! frustrating

I also have a BB Ford and manual trans. and I Had issues with the supplied frame mounts. I used clamps to test the positioning of the mock up block and trans. I had to pull them quite a way to meet the frame. When I removed the bolts from the from the stock Ford rubber mounts on the mock-up block the frame mounts were to far away and the engine dropped about 1/2" to 3/4" lower than the bolt holes. I attempted to shim them from the frame, but didnt like the outcome and with the suggested position I also felt the oil pan was to low to the ground. My solution was to make my own frame mounts and position the engine where I wanted it. The only major drawback to this was that I had to position the body to ensure clearance before welding the mounts into place, but to be honest what ever mounts you use it wouldent be a bad idea to test fit the body with the engine in place and the headers on. Take a look at my build pictures.

Hope this helps, Sam
