what size hole are you suppose to drill when using the front gromets from finishline? I had already drilled .75" with a hole saw and was thinking of usinf a step bit to enlarge the hole...ant thoughts?

Jon:
It has been 10 years but I believe I followed the manual and used a 1-1/4" hole saw.
I did what the manual said to cut the grommets provided.
Never did like it and never could get the glue to hold especially in the front.
I ordered the grommets from Finish Line a couple years later and with a little maneuvering got them to go into the holes in back and up front. The fiberglass is a bit thicker than it should be for the grommets but it worked and have been happy with them.
I would call Finish Line and ask them what size hole to use with their grommets before you take my word on what I did. Maybe some of the other guys will chime in on this thread.

Get the grommets in hand and measure them with a claiper inside the groove. I also typically thin down the glass around the back of the hole edges to set them in there.
I think the 3/4" hole is a good start. Then I used my Dremel tool to grind it out to the oblong shape you need for the grommets to slip in. Don't make it too snug in the hole or you'll have problems sliding the tubes through.
