Like Roscoe said, where it comes out of the body cutout and goes back, there is about a 1/4". I tried to have at least 3/4" buy the muffler part of the side pipe. I had mine Jet Hot Coated (Black), never had an issue with the Chrome Yellow Gelcoat changing due to heat.
