Has anyone here used a radiator from another source besides A&C? I can find one cheaper but wanted to make sure it would work out.

Thanks

I finally settled on an AFCO Racing aluminum radiator. I had it modified by them removing the filler and adding AN fittings and a drain petcock. Full price with mods was like 250.00. I used the A&C lower mount and made upper mounts.

Special ordered mine from Griffin. Pet cocks top and bottom with Inlets and outlets where I wanted. I used the upper and lower mounts from A & C. Only regrets is I wished I slanted mine back instead of front. The manual shows it slanted towards the front. At high speeds I belive it acts as a lift to the front end where slanted back would cause force down.

20" is too tall. 18" or 17" would work better. Make sure your inlet and outlet are on the correct side. I bought an ebay special. So far o.k

I originally had a Griffin but after a year it leaked. Lower welds gave way. Threw it out and got the AFCO.

I agree with Jim. I slanted mine forward slightly.....wish I had slanted it back slightly. I may change it someday.

Oh yeah, I also had Griffin remove the filler neck, didn't need it because you can't get at it, hardly!

I have a perfectly good 22x18 standard Griffin for Ford Pt # BCI-65005, make me an offer. I ran it for about a year then changed it out. New from Summit was $270.00 plus shipping. No Leaks!

One more thing, I originally bought mine radiator from Sonny at A & C, it was a black painted recored radiator out of who knows what. I returned it no problems, Joe took it back after I complained. Love those guys on Dole street but you can get your parts from others.

Went with a custom AFCO. Nice folks. Built my own mounts. Wanted it to tilt back like the originals. Like the look.
