I kind of thought most men gave up playing with G.I. Joe toys when they were kids....before they were old enough for a drivers license. How does this topic or subject deserve space on this forum?? Would one of the moderators help me with this one??

P.S. CCX 33239; quite a few of us still "play" with "GI Joe toys" for a living.

Rickd 12-25-2009 07:13 AM

I don't own an AR style firearm, but CCX, if you're not interested in the topic - there are plenty of other topics to read without griping!! My personal firearm preferences lean towards the "old West". I have a beautiful (in my eyes) Shiloh Sharps 40-65 black powder cartridge rifle (hand built in Big Timber, Montana) - and have shot it in matches up to 600 yards. Soule tang mounted sight - a true work of art. My handguns are a pair of Single Action Army Colt 45's with 7 1/2 in barrels - action job by Bob Munden. My buddies have said you need a new shooting sport that combines driving a cobra and shooting. Any way - enjoy the new Sig - extremely well made firearm...and merry Christmas.

Dan, that is one cool weapon. Perhaps you can join us in our next .223 buy. Santa brought me a new spotting scope so maybe I can see where I'm shooting. With a semi-auto 30 round mag you just sort of point and keep pulling the trigger.

Bob,
I would like to participate in a group buy.
What kind of price can you get them for?
Let me know when.

And just what would you be hitting Bob? Air and dirt?

Nice gun Dan.

Ior

IOR valdada has an excellent scope for that rifle. 1X4X26 with the CQB recticule. Its fast and I have shot 6" steel plates out to 400 yards with it.

Get a good 1911 pistol to compliment that rifle.;)

GI Joe

Men who haven't learned to use grown up GI Joe toys by playing with them will eventually become subjects CXS. Why don't you go hold hands with pelosi.

davids 12-25-2009 05:23 PM

Very nice gun Dan....Just read a great article on that model....Rick, I'm in awe of the Sharps that you have..What a great gun....

Danr55 12-25-2009 05:24 PM

Strange comment for a guy from the land of the militia, Bob. I learned to play with GI Joe toys when I was about 12. Sharpened those skills when I was 18 and I still enjoy "playing" with those toys. Don't know why your panties are in a bunch, but perhaps you'd be happier living somewhere else where GI Joes aren't available? You can always defend your personal freedom with a typewriter. Rest assured of one thing, as long as you live in America, there are lots of men and women who will use thier GI Joe toys and fight to the death, if necessary, to defend your right to dissent and to keep your pissy, juvenile attitude.

mikiec 12-25-2009 09:17 PM

Some day when I grow up I'll trade in my Pelosi approved Light emitting ray gun for a nice AR style weapon.

When my 17yo son saw this pic he declared that the photographer had to be a genious! Who am I to argue?

RedSnake351 12-25-2009 10:26 PM

Looking at that picture, I have to agree with MikieC when he said, " I like the smell of pu... in the morning!" %/ Wait a minute, that's not what he said!
He said, "powder", didn't he? Yeah, I love that smell! ;)

I should be able to pick it up Monday

Let me know when the next shooting outing will be.

Here's a picture of it.

Dan,

Before you buy you might want to look at the civilian version of the FN P90. Here is a picture of the military version

http://world.guns.ru/smg/fn_p90_1.jpg

It fires a 5.7x28mm round from a 50 round magazine. Here is a picture of the weapon field stripped:

I would still prefer to play with the lady holding the AR.

Buzz 12-26-2009 08:27 AM

A Ma Deuce in the living room:eek:!! Now there's a real conversation piece! Not to mention a deterrent to any would be scumbags. Just make sure the (former) neighbor's house is not downrange when you decide to give them a dusting. Talk about collateral damage!! Is it yours and do you get to turn it loose once in a while?
