Dan,

1st things 1st. Go to Ben Avery, use the bench and zero the weapon. Once the weapon and scope are zero'd you can start to develope your shooting style.

For me, on any rifle I have owned, I have always used the sling to help steady the gun in all positions except prone. I also use the military style for off hand, sitting and kneeling, that the way I was taught when I was about 8 or 9 years old.

Find a position that is comfortable and steady. Read some books or look on youtube for help.
