If'n its me you is talkin bout, yep, I'm here in China, but I 'm madder than a baptist in a whore house, my ride now looks like its going to be delayed until early August, the roller was transhipprd from South Africa via Hong Kong and then to Long Beach in California and Roush is still making some fine tunes to the engine, so hope we can all meet up at that time as previously discussed.
BTW the tee shirts are ready, I'll send Danr55 an email with an attachment since I do not know how to upload pictures to this site yet.
AZ, these folks I have never met but they are an OK group, perhaps a little crazy and slightly off the wall [this decidedly describes me with the addition of being slightly nuts, but then who really cares] and definately a bunch of middle aged gents, but all upstandin folks in my book, hey they gotta be, all own Cobra's. He means "Tucson-John" Tin-man. You are far to normal to need a warning!

Thanks Larry. Hopefully I will have the car here in about two weeks depending on the shipping company. Is anyone from Tucson heading up to Phoenix for the July 4th Heber run?

Hi guys, I am back from the trans-Atlantic cruise and my computer seems to be working tonight. Also, I have my Cobra back and am driving it. AZFORDMAN, there are at least eight Cobras for sale here in Tucson, have you looked at any of them ? Give me a month and I'll find a '31 pickup for you around the area. If you want more info on the cars for sale here give me a call anytime at 825-9197. John

Not sure about the Heber run. John may not be in town as he often travels during the summer but I sent him an email about you and this thread.
Big car show Sept in Pinetop. My brother usually enters his FFR. I'll be in Coronado, CA for the vintage races the same weekend. Shelby is featured this year, so I don't want to miss this one.
Be talking to you!

I can give you a call tomorrow if you'll be around. The car in NH is pretty much a done deal, but I am not opposed to looking at the cars here. It would actually be nice to see a Contemporary Classics in person if there is one here to help me plan the mods I will need to do on my car.

I flew from Seattle to Atlanta and didn't buy the Cobra. Then I flew from Seattle to Pensacola, bought a different Cobra and took a few days to see Florida beaches. I suggest you go to NH, buy the Cobra, be the one to drive it onto transport and take a little vacation around the NE. Maybe you drive your new Cobra around a little. It was all part of the Cobra experience. Just make sure you get back to Tucson before the new Cobra arrives!

I bought my Cobta "sight unseen" and never even spoke to the fellow until he was delivering the car to me. I was making arrangements to get the car transported and he offered to deliver it...for a price of course. He had sent me all his build pictures plus other members on the Cobra site asked why he was selling after he had pain stakingly built the car. I had an overall good feeling that nothing was hidden. If you can get that feeling also, go with your gut.....if you don't get that warm fuzzy feeling then go with your brain.....Posi...

The car is at home with me in Tucson. Having vapor lock problems that I did not have in New Hampshire....I wish I had brought a jacket with me when I went back there....thought it was summer still. Couldn't barely stand to drive the car at night because it was too cold! Thank goodness for Wallyworld and $10 sweat shirts! I swapped out the carb this morning and installed the phenolic spacer and heat shield that were with it on the Bronco. Car is running, so will get it out on the road later on to see if that solves the vapor lock problem.

If that is the car that I looked at in New Hampshire, it probably hasn't been driven 50 miles in the last 3 or 4 years. The crap that's stuffed in the fuel lines and fuel filter would probably clog a garden hose. If that is the car I looked at and I'm not saying that it is, you should take the fuel system apart and blow it out well. I see by the ID that it is a Contemporary, but I can see the back to see if it has a half dozen reflectors on it.
I just found the photo on page two. If that is the car the Mickmate was talking about, the guy told me that it had been on jacks for three years and that was two years ago. I'm seriously back to the plugged fuel filter.

Dan, it probably is the same car...only 900 miles total since it was first built back in the day...did have ugly yellow turn markers on the rear end. (Another issue that I have already solved, the box that regulates the brake/turn signals was defective). Anyways, a new fuel filter did not help, but I pulled the Holley off of my 84 Bronco and installed it on the Contemporary and that solved the vapor lock problem.

Does it have an in-tank fuel filter also? As I recall, that is a 351W from a 90's series Mustang. I'd be real sure the fuel in the car hasn't gummed up the works.
