Been there, done that. There are lots of little things you can do that add up to big results. I no longer have heat problems except above 10,000 feet.
Carb phenolic spacer, ProBlend 40 below instead of antifreeze, ProBlend in oil, lift hood when stopped with engine off, float bowls low, electric switch for fuel pump, fan switch and more. They all add up.
