OK,

So shall we do breakfast in Florence, then off to Globe to Superior? If so where is a good place in Florence to meet?

OK, Guys..

Lets keep this one for info about the challange/invitational run.

Besides we confuse Tin-man. Tha's probably easy to do as he has been outsourcing US jobs to China for many years.

Now back to our discussion about the run.

Now hold on there pardner. 1.5 hours, 87 miles to Florence, 3 hours, 150 miles to Oracle, Globe then Superior, 1.5 hours, 89 miles home. That's 6 hours driving and 326 miles in one day, then throw in a breakfast and ice cream. Were looking at a long day here. How about shortening this a bit? There are no short cuts between Florence and Globe, just dirt roads. How about a late breakfast in Florence then ice cream in Casa Grande. Then ride home for everyone is similar. We PHX folks can meet up at the famous Chevron in AJ.

Bob, Are we exaggerating a bit? Those are total mile not cumulative miles. It's only about 54 miles from Florence to Oracle. It's 65 miles from Oracle to Superior. It's 73 miles from Superior to Glendale AZ. So the total mileage is about what, 243 miles including the original 38 mile trip ffrom Glendale to Idaho Rd.

OK,

How about this..

Meet in Florence for breakfast. Go to Superior for DQ. Then those wanting to do the Globe to Hayden loop can do so. Those that do not.. don't.

Remember John has a say in this.

More reasonable for 1 day: MapQuest Maps - Driving Directions - Map 3 hrs 43 mins / 206.44 miles
If John agrees we need place to meet and eat in Florence.
You should know the weekend before several of us are going on the Route 66 Fun Run which is 550+ miles. MapQuest Maps - Driving Directions - Map
I'd better buy some oil stock.

Michaels sounds like a nice place to meet.

I sent them an email asking about parking and seating capacity.

Michaels is open from 9am til 3pm. They will accomidate the group. I just need to let them know how many and approx time so they can add staff for us if needed.

They say plenty of parking along the street and side street.

Hi guys, I am finally free of commitments and can devote full attention to this drive. First, it seems that there is a splinter group that only wants to make a short drive to Florence for breakfast. Then, a group that wants to go to Globe. I would rather that we do the triangle route that we have done in the past. That is: meet in Winkelman for breakfast at the Mexican restaurant, then drive to Globe and end in Superior for a Dairy Queen. If we get up early and keep driving we'll all be home before it gets too hot. I don't know how many miles it is but there are gas stations all along the way. I don't know how long it will take, it's a day for driving the Cobra.
