Congrats Tin Man,
You will have a lot of fun. I am not sure if Sandy has found this to be the case in his 511 or not but although Roush and the dealers say these 511 can run on preium unleaded, they dont like to. Strictly seat of the pants numbers I figure I am giving up about 50-100 hp when only running preium and it hesitates and acts up when you put your foot into it. I never have the problem if I blend it a little 104 octane or even the 110 leaded octane. It gives it a big boost in the seat of the pants and not the hesitation problem I have otherwise. Also, never let it get below a half tank or you will have the same problem unless the fuel pickup is better in the SPF than the CSX (entirely possible)
Looking forward to seeing the car. I like the driving lights as well. One way to blind the bumper of the car in front of you in case they are going too slow!
Ron

I gotta run down to Erick's shop and take a look-see before it goes!

While Roush's FI 511's have given owners issues, you at least have one of the gurus set it up.

I can't wait to read your impressions when you get it.

Hmmm, haven't tried high-octane/racing fuel yet, last I checked it was $9 per gallon at Love's, ouch. No performance problems with mine...yet, we'll see. From what I understand though an engine must be tuned for racing fuel to take advantage of it. It seems racing fuel would invalidate the fuel curves in the ECU but you say you're getting better performance so could be worth a try. I might consider sneaking up on it, starting with just 1 gallon high octane gas added to the first tank and so on. But not yet because at least in my case it's still, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." [famous last words? ]
