Reverse means engaging the transmission in a gear that makes it go backwards. It will not reverse a mistake.

So when putting your transmission in R, reving it up will only make you go backwards at a rapid rate of speed, possibly causing non-reversing damage to the person behind you. If you're lucky, the person behind you anticipated correctly and had a two car buffer and you could put the brakes on in time.

In that event, you will be lucky to reel from a regaling from the person in the right hand seat instead of a recovery claim or a damaged rear. It also delays having to paint your car pink.

I hope this clears it up.

Well duh! Do we need to take up bandwidth with this rediculous nonsense? If you're a guy that throws an auto into reverse then you deserve to get everything you get.

I think the "R" on my rear tires stands for race. Hope this helps, lol. Cheers.

So who died and made you the Editor in Chief of this Forum pal, was it really necessary for you to barge in on a local conversation and use that type of a personal diatribe to define the validity other peoples light-hearted discourse on an open forum?

It would have been more appropriate if you had grasped the thrust and manner of what was being said and played along without taking a quasi highroad and opining on the use of bandwidth and then making a statement that clearly makes you the butt of your own prose. Just so you know the word "rediculous" is spelled wrong, it should have been "ridiculous" and just so you can understand more succinctly I have included the correct definition of such a word and highlighted some of its uses.

After reviewing your posts you seem like a nice guy, probably have a good family life and are a fine uspstandin' gent, but with just a few posts to come on this forum and start blazing away is not a good start to developing your profile, clearly your interaction skills need attention if you intend to remain on this forum and develop new friends. IMHO.

Oh, and by the way, DFW [ Don't Phuck With] any of the members of the Arizona Cobra's, we are a bunch of good natured retired or semi retired Cobra enthusiasts who have put their time in and have earned the right to say what we want being either silly, light-hearted, sincere or factual and detailed when we have technical discussions in an effort to help a fellow Cobra member who has issues.

Got it, now carry on and be nice.
