Cobra Cruise ship to Mexico in Feb. ???
Is anyone interested in going on a cruise to Mexico during late Jan. or Feb. ? Ships leave out of both Los Angeles and San Diego. Prices are from $499 for an inside room to $1,200 for a suite, (per person). Parking in LA is 50' from the dock, in SAN it is near the airport with free shuttle service, (about 5 minutes). If you have never been on a cruise this would be an excellent first time trip. We have cruised out of both cities and prefer San Diego. You must have a passport. John

Took the Mexican Riviera Cruise Thanksgiving 2008 with 4 stops out of LA on Princess Cruises. Great trip. Bring lots of liquor, beer is $$, food is $$ unless planned, souveniers are $$, Dock stops will be $$, everything is extra $$. Plan to spend at least as much as your room, but still a memorable experience. I just can't be away from my cobra that long. I get nervous.

A long skinny ramp? But on the upside I am sure we could run them around the running track on top of the boat.

I enjoy any cruise and have done the Mex. Riviera 3 times before but that was 10 years ago now. We used to take the Funny Car and team to do exhibition races in Mexico, again in the past.
There is no way in heii I would do any of that today. Now parts of our state have warnings not to enter or travel because of extreme danger. Our Government warns it's Citizens rather than fix the problem. John, you live near closer to these smuggling routes than I do. What the heck are you thinking??? I want no part of travel in Mexico.
These signs were posted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) along a 60-mile stretch of Interstate 8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend, a major east-west corridor linking Tucson and Phoenix with San Diego.

We cruise every year, and our 2012 cruise was supposed to be Western Mexico and was cancelled by Carnival because of the violence down there....so we're cruising the Eastern coast next year.

My sweetie and I are "crusing" central France this coming May. Wonder if I'll be able to find any old rotten grape juice?

At least maybe some without a snake hiding in the bottle?

Hey John...great idea and sounds like fun. However, I have made plans already to get away in March for my sweetheart's birthday. Target is Bora Bora. Karl/Dave...keep it quiet.

We use to go down to Puerta Vallarta every year. Just got back from Ireland and did not have a worry. Only problem was losing to many golf balls. No Mexico for quite awhile for us.

Bob B. All of the cruise ships that I have been on do charge for alcahol and soft drinks. I have never been charged for the food, which is available about 21 hours a day. The basic price per person of $499 includes all the food that you can eat. Additional costs are the $9 per day per person charge for the room-attendant, waiter, etc. AND it is up to you to decide if you want to pay this. The port stops are up to you. Options are to book a ship tour, get off the ship and get your own taxi/tour to do the same route, or do the tour on your own. Right now many ships allow you to take your own alcahol on board in your bag when you initially board but not when you buy some at a port and bring it on board. We have found that most of the trinkets that we purchased on board were actually worth the price that we paid. Bob, I hate to tell you this but your Cobra doen't know when you are gone. Perhaps your son could come over and talk to it. John

Danr55, The port stops are usually Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallatta, Mazatlan, and Acapulco. On a seven day cruise it takes two days to get to Acapulco and 1 1/2 days back from Cabo. Aida and I would love to have you and your bride come with us.
