Up Yarnell Hill on New Year's Day has become a tradition. Last year several cars kept going on into Prescott and some returned down the hill. In the past we aim for a lunch gathering after the hill climb. I'm sure it's on, we just haven't planned a lunch location yet. Meet is at McDonald's in Wickenburg about 10am so the sun has had a chance to warm things up a bit.

Now that was just mean, you could have gone all day without saying that, but I do believe someone else would have taken the shot if you had not been the first to do so. Is the hill steep?

Duplication of effort!

I caught several glimpses of a mighty fine copper colored Cobra in the second vid that Danr posted. Of course it was the one holding up traffic. The run up the hill is fun but coming down is even better. That gravity thing, and in some places where the highway is divided, there are somewhat tighter turns..at least they seemed that way at higher speed. A nice run, once the frost burns off. Ya just have to dress for it and remember these things are supposed to be SPORTS cars, not some namby pamby comfortable-mobile.

How lovely that the videos are from my former Cobra.. you can tell it is not me as I can see that there are other Cobras going up the hill.... I don't recall following anyone...

I might even join you all this year with the Mustang...

Danr55 11-16-2011 07:18 PM

That would be nice Mulv. Someone ask the other day if you were still in town. I said I didn't know. Hadn't seen you for a long time.**):JEKYLHYDE:cool:

FR, ABSOLUTELY!!! BIG TIME!
It would be nice to have a fuel mixture control in the cockpit, like small planes have!
Ralph:MECOOL:

mikiec 11-17-2011 07:20 AM

No problem with a carb. Not sure what Ralph is drinkin. Maybe he is playing with the fuel mixture in his cockpit. LOL

Tinny go here AZ Cobras and check under pictures and videos.

mikiec 11-17-2011 07:21 AM

Tinny, Are you still getting your car this month? We could do a run up Yarnell before hand.

Danr55 11-17-2011 09:11 AM

We could do Yarnell, but seems someone was asking for a Tortilla Flats run also. I'm up for either one.

Yep, it will fatten the mixture from the lower density/O2. Although a seat of the pants HP loss may be noted all the more reason for a big big block.
Injection with a closed loop also cures any altitude issue but all kidding aside if carb/s are set up properly for 2K elevation of Phx. then 6K+ is no problem.
