Default Tucson, AZ, Cobra drive to Kitt Peak.

The Tucson Cobras invite any one interested in coming along for a drive to Kitt Peak on Saturday, Feb. 11 th. The meeting location is at 15200 W. Ajo Way at Cindy Lou's II Restaurant. It is about two miles west of Ryan Field and a mile east of Three Points. Plan to be there about 9:45 am, they serve from one menu and the prices are reasonable. From there it's on to Kitt Peak, a 28 mile drive with 12 miles of twistys. There will be a tour of the telescopes at 11:30 and I am planning to make that. If you have a question call me at 520-825-9197.

Cool trip John. I've been there twice with both boys when they were young. Interesting and educational too. Long downhill.

John, sounds interesting but too short of notice. Had gun-show in Casa Grand planned for a few days.

John,

Give the rest of us a couple of weeks notice next year. Also, when is the Beer and Brats happening?

We had a terrific drive. The weather was perfect at Tucson and at Kitt Peak, elevation 6,875'. The restaurant folks were fast and the meals great. They even took pictures of our cars to put up on the wall. We did get to the peak in time for the 11:30 tour. The drive up, 12 miles of twistys and 5,000' , was outstanding ! There were no cars in front of us and we had our own private road course, we did take full advantage of it !!! Ralph, if you are interested in any of our Tucson drives I can let you know, we normally do a drive once a month to a destination that is of interest. Mikiec, Aida and I are not doing the Brats, Burgers, & Beer anymore, we did it for nine years and feel that it's time for someone else to step up. On a side note, the San Manuel golf course restaurant has been closed for a while now. If you guys want to come down here for a brunch I can look around for a restaurant that can accommadate us.
