Huntington Beach Re-cap
The HB trip is now history and what a great trip it was. Three of us met on the westside for the drive to HB via San Diego. We met up with 2 couples from SD for lunch at "Rockin Baja" for a great lunch in the harbor of Oceanside. Great people (Thanks Jim/Sean and ladies). From there we cruised up Pacific Coast highway through Newport Beach, Laguna Beach to HB. The show was full of people (10,000 people) at least. Great weather, great beach band (The fabulous Nomads) and over 100 great looking cars from FFR.
Next year you should plan to attend. The weekend would pan out like this:
Depart PHX Friday 7am (west side)
Cruise to Oceanside for lunch with SD chapter (12:30 est.)
2 pm:Cruise up the beach to motel ($89-$100 per night)
Stay over friday and saturday night
Saturday car show for guys, shopping Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach for girls. Group lunch for the girls or lunch with the guys on HB Pier (Ruby's or Johnny Rockets)
Saturday night, cruise up to Long Beach for group dinner on Queen Mary?
Sunday Morning return at your leisure
About 6 driving hours to HB and 5 1/2 back via Riverside/Palm Springs.
Plan to attend. It will be a lot of fun for anyone that decides to go.
Oh, "gofastoldguy" was pulled over so the CHP could "look at his Cobra". That's what Bill said and he sticking to it!!!

Hey Bill,
How many tickets do you get before they take away your keys?

Great job on the microphone, mike.
Sean, Carla, Diane and I had a blast meeting you, Will, Bill and the wives and kids for lunch on Friday in Oceanside. You couldn't have asked for better weather on Saturday. Sunday was back to our normal gloom.
See you next year.

CHP Looksee at Bill's Car
OK, OK, so maybe he didn't want to look at the Cobra. He did, however, want to tell me a story about a Cobra driver who wandered into the left lane while putting on sun blocker on his nose...honest, true story. Unfortunately he didn't have a sense of humor because he was in the lane next and behind me!! He determined that I had made an "unsafe lane change" and gave me a paper present to look at for a few weeks until I have to pay the court.
Maybe it was when I told him that he looked like he just got out of the academy! Or maybe when I asked him if I could hold his big gun! (I figured it was California after all). I survived to live another day with a lighter wallet.

Good going Bill. We'll be glad to have you along on the run to Seligman. Kind of like a sacrificial offering.

Jim....hopefully we'll have a few more cobra's next year. Great meeting up with you guys and thanks for the tips on food and directions. We enjoyed the drive up PCH even though it was slower than I-5 there was lots to look see. It let my wife Lorraine map out shopping for Saturday. By the way, Will, Donna, Lorraine and I are planning a return trip this summer when it hits 110 degrees here. We would enjoy meeting you guys for dinner this time, or lunch or bkfst.........Lorraine loves to eat and she loves seafood.
