Default Hannigans Meadow Run

I was contacted this morning by Gil Mares from the Pantera club. They are joining with the Lotus club and planning a run up the Coronado Trail in September. They have invited us to join in if we'd like to go. Let me know if anyone is interested. We did this run a couple of years ago and it was fun.

What dates work for you? So far there is nothing firmed up. I can suggest a date.

Going out on a limb here, but thinking we'd be interested in making the trip, if the timing is right, and of course, if the car is right.

David, Last time it was warm going across the valley toward Safford and Morenci but cooled off nicely after we started up the hill. Going across the top was beautiful...

Karl, get that car right!

I am interested. I'll follow Karl if he can stay on pavement. Scotty brought scotch and cigars last time and over tipped the waitress.

Dave, parts of the run are up over 9,000 feet. It never warms up that high. LOL LOL

Mesa Dave del Wimp,

"Well you know how I feel about the cold"

Wear layers and you might be able to make the trip even if its out of your 10* comfort span.

I'm for it. The ESSC discussed this run last weekend at our monthly dinner.

Sounds good to me. Still too far off to know my schedule yet, but should be good fun.

The snow shouldn't be too deep by 09/21.

Hannagan Meadow Lodge offers a variety of winter activities, including perfect cross country ski trails. Hannagan snowfall averages 35 feet a year! The Lodge's snow tubing hill is the most popular activity for families (kids love it!), and we have acres of snowmobile trails.

Located 22 miles south of Alpine at an elevation of 9,100 feet

The Coronado Trail between Alpine and Hannagan Meadow is plowed daily, when needed, and is the recommended path to the Lodge during the winter months. During an active storm, the Lodge may be temporarily isolated. For assistance in planning your trip, please contact ADOT (Arizona Department of Transportation) at (888)411-ROAD for current weather and road conditions. Mid-December through mid-March offers the best chance for good snow

So it looks like cool to cold but no snow.

Christine and I are in. This is our favorite cruise in Arizona and Hannagan Meadow Lodge is our favorite place to stay. The 21st looks good, so far.

Click the link below for a slide show of a previous Devil's Highway run we'd made in the Cobra.
