Wild Horse Motorsports Park will be removing the drag strip from road racing thereby shutting down both the Main and Mondo track configurations.
However, ProAutoSports has scheduled one last event on both of these historic, high speed tracks: Saturday September 28 on Main and Sunday September 29 on Mondo (the Main and Bondurant tracks combined). Click here or click the image below for more information.

I pretty much grew up at Firebird Raceway, I live just north of the track, I'm going to miss when NHRA comes into town and I can hear their engines all the way at my house when the wind is right, I can hear them all the way in Tempe,AZ,, sad to see it go...

Last I heard was that the drag strip was being torn out for replacement. In fact, that work was scheduled to take place right after the Bondurant 80th Birthday Bash in October!

The drag strip isn't going away; it's just getting better. The new facility management is repaving it in October and has installed all new timing and scoring equipment. The NHRA signed a multi-year agreement to race at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park. Click here to read more.
