Default Tucson, AZ Jan. 1st drive.

Hi guys, we will have a drive on New Years Day. The weather forecast has changed completely, temps in the 70's and no rain. As usual, the destination will not be announced until you arrive there. More info to follow.

Another of John's mystery rides. We did one with the Tucson Gany years ago. It was fun.

My favorite ride was to the Franklin Car museum.

Yes, it is for the Phx gang. John is doing his own thing in Tucson.

New news, The drive will be 60.8 miles and time will be 1:45. The restaurant has reservations set for us at !:15 pm. We have options of sitting in the basement, the main floor, or outside. Food prices run from $7 to $13 for a lunch. It was so dark inside that I couldn't see a TV set, and the floors creaked so badly that the sound would drown out any other sound. The menu was in English but the print so small that I couldn't read it. Don't wear fancy clothing because the vinyl red checkerboard table tops seemed to be a bit dirty and the wooden chairs kinda' tilted.
Dress warm, it will be chilly (a cool 62 to 70 degrees). . Bring a blanket to sit on, the roads seem to be getting much worse every year. Camera, bring one, there will be some very pretty scenery to photograph.
Please gas up prior to our departure, we won't be stopping for you if you run out.
If you are going to have car problems please have them the day before or, we'll wave at you and the AAA service vehicle.
There will be a pit stop at 1:07 into the drive for those who need it, I am planning to spend 3 minutes and 15 seconds for this.

The ride is over and I want to thank all of you for participating. We had five Cobras, a Daytona Coupe, a 2005 Special Edition Corvette, a restored 1969 Pontiac Firebird, and one of three Cunningham re-productions ever built, ( Larry and his wife, Jan, drove in from Sonoita to join us).
The 12 question test was won by Joe and his wife Ricki.
AND, the restaurant was very good, everyone was served promptly, the meals were very good to excellent. It's a place that we will return to.

NONE. Our drives on New Years Day have always been on a different route with a different destination. The aim is to show everyone parts of Tucson and the area that we normally don't see. Each year the restaurant changes and we have never had bad service or food. Our "lead driver" is aware of the speed limit and we have never had a law enforcement problem.
