Default 2014 az cobra club annual picinic

OK ok OK. At long last I've found an excellent site for the 2014 Cobra Club Picnic, to be held:

Saturday April 12,

10am to 2pm or 3pm.

BARTLETT LAKE, RATTLE SNAKE COVE.

I procrastenated 'way too long and waited for information for Scottsdale Railroad Park, 'way too long. So, back to the old stand-by. I understand that this will please a lot of people and some other people, not so much.

It is a nice drive, once you get past the freeways, and if you remember the local constabulary likes to find revenue sources. I'm hoping Bob Bro. will post a link with directions and maybe even park info, since I have no clue about how to do that.

I'll get there no later than 8am to snag a pavillion and to try to hold parking spaces. I'll bring lotsa charcoal and will feed my pyromania with the fire starting. (I've got some stale 110 octane that'll get things going nicely)

Mikiec will be bringing plates, nappies, plastic ware, and some cooking stuff.

Please bring your own protien, or what every you want for your main. (counting on Ralphie bringing tofu.) Please bring any sort of side dish to share. Since Judy S. has her wing in a sling, again, I'll bring bunches of cookies, just to provide a good sugar fix. Any other deserts I'm sure would be gobbled up and bring your own beverages AND CHAIRS.

Remember to get your Tonto Parks pass ahead of time since I don't know if the ranger station will be open, at the time. Lotsa gas stations, Walgreens, CVS stores sell them and the last time I was up there, the Rangers were checking pretty closely.

Hope we can have a good turnout. Its always good to see a bunch of nice folks and their outstanding cars.

I'll get what we have to Bob B.

Ginny and I are signed up for the Fun under the Sun (the old Knotts show) that weekend.

Great job Karl. I have always liked Bartlett Lake. I will post all we need to know.
Thanks for volunteering to get there early and hold the site for us. I will meet and lead the group from the Chevron station at Carefree Hwy and Cave Creek Rd where you can also buy the Tonto pass.

This place was recommended by Scott Coyle many years ago and has served us well.
Karl and the easties have a full year to find another place.

Now that I work at SkipperBuds at Scorpion Bay Marina- there may be place like Bartlett out Northwest- don't know lake yet or roads. Come say hi in Houseboat Office.

Nice of ya'll to have it on my birthday but I probably won't be there. Have a 9-1 band gig the night before and again that night, and at 48 (almost) I need my beauty sleep.

Maricopa, sorry to hear it. One year closer to a half century. Also sorry, sort of, that you won't make it to the picnic.

I'll be there. Changed my plans.

Maricopa, a good musician can do both.
