If your Tacoma is a 2005 or newer with a V-6 it is rated to pull 6,500 pounds.
A long metal serpent express is maybe 2,500 pounds with a 2,500 pound car so I don't see a problem at all as long as you have good working breaks on the trailer.

A 14' SE comes in at about 1900 lbs and the cars come in around 2500 (give or take) so that's 4400 lbs. I tow mine with an 04 Fort Ranger with a 4.0L V6 @ 207 HP when new. 114K on the truck. Tows very comfortably at highway speeds (70 - 75 mph).

I have had my aluminum Serpent Express for 6 years. If you want to haul a Cobra it works well. If you want to haul extra tires, parts or Yeti's and Igloo's, get a larger trailer. They also fit into most garages which works well with subdivision restrictions. I would recommend the two axle brakes and all the zippers you can get on the sides. Front opening has been useless to me after I installed my winch. I would buy another one if I needed another trailer for Cobra transport.

DWRAT……There is a post by serpent express on FFCARS that list all the trailers he has build. One guy is looking to sell his express. I suggest you contact the builder for names and locations of units for sale. Good luck. By the way I have used both his express and my own frameless dove tail trailer. The express is great for storing a car but for transporting I prefer the open trailer.

I've got a Serpent Express for sale. Just out side of Portland, OR. SE09 I think. Asking $3000. 16', beavertail, 4 wheel electric brakes, brand new radial tires ($650.00), spare tire, interior light, 3/4" plywood over 2 x 6 deck, in floor tie downs, good shape and tows like a dream. I've towed this all over the west coast and it has performed flawlessly. If interested call or email and I'll send pictures.

To far away for me, but thanks for posting.
Not even 100% sure I really want a canvas trailer in AZ.

For that price you could make a trip get it and still be ahead. The Canvas sides are fine out here. I believe there at least 5 Serpent Express in the state, most in Phoenix and Tucson.

You could ask Danr55 and Mesa Dave. Both are AZ CC members. They are the only ones I know that own one. They very rarely use it so who knows?

We have one that we would sell cheap. Needs some work because it's just sat around for a few years but you will come out dollars ahead.
