289 with 48 IDA's & 4 spd. Never officially checked it but if I were to formulate a WAG, I'd say 11 in town while shifting conservatively and about 14 on the hiway at 2900-3000 criuse RPM, and MUCH less if in the throttle hard.

WHO CARES.......and what's a "Fuel Budget"????

I'll share a true story fuel economy carried too far. I am employed by a good sized Chevrolet Dealership in Central California, we have a large Solar panel that is tied into the grid and has 2 charging stations for Electric vehicles. It is noted on various Eco friendly advisory forums. About 9:30 one Saturday morning early in the Spring a young family stopped in to charge their car while traveling to So Cal. They had traveled about 65-70 miles and were plugged in most ALL DAY until after 4:30. They had two young children running around the Lounge area and making a mess. It got me to thinking that if you could only go this far before being forced to recharge (ours source was free) what do people think their time is worth if driving one of these types of cars long distance (no gas engine backup) they were headed to Los Angeles. That could have taken a friggn week.
