That must be the Yehti, as I didn't hear a single "Ayyaht" anywhere in there and everyone knows all them New Englanders alway "Ayyaht" for everything.. Just ask Judd Strunk.

I think it was a chupacobra- which instead of sucking the blood out of goats, sucked the air out of the cobra's tire. I did hear a" thank you very much" sounding rather like Elvis just before the tire deflated. And I understand they have been sighted as far north as Maine, so Mikie, be careful.

It is my suspicion, based on discussions with the tyre manufacturers that many of you are running with pressures too low.
Avon recommended 28psi for their CR6ZZ's on my Kirkham and they work beautifully at that pressure.
If many of the Cobra guys in the UK are anything to go by, they tend to set their suspension way too firm and then rely on the tyre to provide the compliance.
The numbers quoted earlier in the thread of around 22psi, are far too low.
I previous ran Goodyear Billboards and ran a series of temperature tests at three points across all four tyres and the results showed that once again, 28psi was optimum.

On my rock hard Radial TA's I run 26PSI on the front and 28 on the rear.

Paul ... dead on . I sent an e mail a while back to the Technical Director of Avon on tire pressures for the track and street . Track ... start at 32 psi front and rear ( hot ) and then make changes based on tire temps . He didn`t really want to see anything under 26 psi for the street .
Personal experience on my ERA with Avons . Started at 24 psi front and rear and car had a delay on turn in ( sidewall flex ) . Went to 27 psi front and 25 psi rear and car handled beautifully . Settled on 28 front and 26 rear cold and then start reading tire temps .
Also correct on springs etc , although most won`t like the way mine rides as it ( shocks and springs ) is set for track use and I don`t change for the street .... I just live with it .
