Newbie - about to buy FFR

I am new to the forum. I live in AZ and have had my eye on a Cobra for 15 yrs. My finances and wife are on board! I am looking to meet FFR Cobra owners in the Phoenix area, and hopefully someone that is willing to let me sit in the car to make sure I fit comfortably. I am considering either a 427 Windsor based motor or the Coyote, and need to compare the difference for my big feet. Also looking to generally meet owners in my area. Thank you in advance! Mike

Mike, welcome to the family, almost. We gather as a group fairly often. Our next group will be Thursday evening from 5 to 9pm at: Calvin Charles Gallery | Scottsdale's Premier Contemporary Art Gallery and Event Location .
Join us, there will be several FFR cobras there of the 15 expected.
These are the threads covering the event:

Welcome.

We also will have a good showing at the HD dealer in Chandler on Jan 24. Roughly 9AM to 3PM.

Also, don't believe everything you read or hear from the AZ Cobra group, except if it's from me of course.....

Cheers

Another Mike, Jeeeeez, can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Mike...or a Mustang.

Welcome to this motley group. Word of extreme caution...beware of the Westsiders.

You'll find that there are bunches of really nice FFRs, and there are some that are not so much. Its a great time to be a Cobra buyer. If you're not dead set on building it yourself, there are lots of very well done cars, of all brands, avaliable. Most at much less than their construction costs. True that you may be able to get into a bare bones kit for small change, but by the time you get it to your satisfaction, you will have dropped probably three times the initial amount into it, and it will have taken a lot of time, that you could have been driving and enjoying a completed car. Come join us the 15th and or the 24th. There will be lots to sample and evaluate.

Thank you all. It looks like I can make the 24th work, so I will plan to come by Chandler HD. Thanks!

Karl Bebout 01-09-2015 01:55 PM

Mike F. Glad to hear that you'll hit the HD show. One other thing I somehow neglected to mention....at all costs, avoid the mean guy with the Chevy Orange Cobra. Nuttin but trouble!

mikiec 01-09-2015 02:37 PM

Sheesh.. Let the newbie meet all the others before he meets HIM. He should even come to NH and I can fill him on everyone.

Mike Fahlman 01-10-2015 04:43 PM

Sounds like a fun group!

Danr55 01-10-2015 05:04 PM

Mike..on behalf of "HIM", WELCOME.

mikiec 01-10-2015 06:41 PM

Looks like my driveway, before Harley gets done with it.

Who or what is Harley?
Any pictures?

mikiec 01-10-2015 09:00 PM

Harley is the only toy I own that has 2 wheels and a motor.

Common usage is to throw that crappy white stuff off my driveway.

So what kind of white stuff you talkin'?

mikiec 01-12-2015 02:30 PM

Let's put it this way. I'm not going to get rich bagging this stuff.

Car Nut 01-13-2015 11:05 AM

Maybe it is the way you market it.

mptech 01-13-2015 12:58 PM

I'm not in AZ, but I am finishing my FFR MK4 build.
I've enjoyed building it and like the FFR product very much. I have almost 9k miles on it in the last 2 summers and thoroughly enjoy the experience and people you meet.

If you haven't visited FFCars.com yet, there is a TON of good information and many knowledgeable sources there for your new project.

Good luck on your purchase!
