Gary,

I check on the Cobra every morning.

RUTHERFORD 01-29-2015 06:22 PM

I am planning a coast to coast June 15 through July 4th
Camp Pendleton, CA to Camp Lejeune, NC...

I need to develop a good stop around Phoenix and Tuscon June 16 / 17..

any ideas?

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 01-29-2015 07:45 PM

Rutherford, If you are driving a cobra, it's pretty warm here in June. You may want to drive in the early morning and motel by 3pm when you are sweating.
Here is avg temps for Phoenix in June:

Average temperature: 91
Average high temperature: 104
Average low temperature: 78
Warmest ever: 122
Coldest ever: 60
Average precipitation: .02

I'd say stay high and stop in Flagstaff. Avoid the PHX valley altogether using I-40 during june. Good luck on your drive.

Karl Bebout 01-30-2015 09:10 AM

Rutherford: don't let those sissy, nanby-pambies scare you away. Just be sure to cover any exposed skin with lots of sun screen and HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE.

mikiec 01-30-2015 09:35 AM

What he said.

Cobrakeith 01-30-2015 10:24 AM

Ok, put me on the list, I signed up for my reservation this morning. Got a top floor reservation, to late for the ground level. Been wanting to do this run for a long time and finally have the time to do it. Looking forward to the trip.

Car Nut 01-30-2015 03:08 PM

I guess no one warned Scott about Bill.

mikiec 01-30-2015 04:33 PM

That's what I was thinking.

mikiec 01-30-2015 04:35 PM

Bill, is Gabby sleeping on the floor?

dave from mesa 01-30-2015 06:30 PM

Judy will be gone that weekend so we will not make it. Tried but she said no she will be in L.A.

Karl Bebout 01-30-2015 06:42 PM

Dave, you could stick with the pack and you won't need a navagator. Not allowed to go by yourself?

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 01-30-2015 07:35 PM

Dave, I have an empty bed on the ground floor. We could have a snore-off.

AZ Bob
