223 & 5.56 on the chopping block
I read on Fox News that Jeffs good buddy is putting the AR-15 type bullets on the chopping block.
Get them while you still can if you use them.
Hopefully my 4000 will last my life time.

The only stuff directly at risk right now if the green tipped armour piercing ammo. They claim it is a risk to LEO's because it will penetrate the body armour. I don't recall hearing about anyone using 5.56 SS109 for any crimes or any body armour being compromised.

Only 4000? Amature. I have a lot to say about this but, this forum is not the place for it. We still have lots of 223 and 556 rounds to store up. Just another small step against us gun lovers. We'll correct it in 2016.

223/5.56 Second Amendment Flanking Attack
This is just more gun grabber attempts to limit our Second Amendment rights and take our guns away. I don't shoot .223/5.56 but I do shoot 22-250. A couple decades ago the local PD where I lived at the time used to allow civilians to shoot after the mandatory police qualifications were over. The range had a 22 caliber limit on the rifles they would allow us to take down there.
When I showed up with my rifle the only question they asked was, is it 22 caliber and I told them it was. That particular evening there was a reporter doing research for an article on "cop killer teflon coated bullets". As we were sitting waiting for the police qualifications to finish I was attempting to persuade him there was no benefit to a teflon coated projectile — in fact it was probably nothing more than urban legend.
His position was the urban legend representation was nothing more than propaganda from far right gun owners who were trying to fool the rest of the "good" citizenry so they could keep their "armor piercing" teflon coated bullets. He indicated that he would be conducting his own tests after qualifications to get to the "real facts".
I suggested to him that if he was willing I would demonstrate to him that something as innocuous as a varmint rifle used to shoot ground squirrels could penetrate his test kevlar vest without the use of nonexistent teflon coated bullets.
After he had satisfied himself the vest would provide protection for pistol rounds like .38, 38 Special and 9mm I got to shoot at his vest. The first shot picked up his chair moving it backward substantially, placing a small hole in the front of the vest and ripping a fairly substantial chunk of material out of the back of the vest.
Predictably the first response was something like holy **** and had a follow up commentary that went something like, 'that thing ought to be outlawed'. I pointed out to him that his entire teflon coated bullet crusade was the stuff uninformed people gravitate to and had nothing to do with reality. Additionally in terms of hunting rifles mine tended to be at the bottom of the totem pole power-wise.
The rest of the evening was by and large a waste. The range master told me I could finish the evening off but to never come back with that particular .22 again. The following week they would not allow centerfire 22's on the range.
The real world has nothing to do with reality for the gun grabbers. They just want to disarm us because they don't want guns. The second ammendment does not exist for them. When Obama was unsuccessful in his attempts to further the gun grabber's agenda legislatively he chose to try to use Executive Orders to deny access to ammunition under the guise of removing AP ammo that harmed law enforcement professionals.
The problem has two big holes. First there is no record of 223 AP ammo ever being used to penetrate law enforcement ballistic vests. Secondly the stature of the diminutive 223/5.56 round compared to commercially available hunting ammo — even for ground squirrel — is laughable. Virtually any hunting round possesses far more capability than the 223/5.56 ammo they are attempting to regulate off the market.
This is just another absurd attempt by gun grabbers to limit our Second Amendment rights and it needs to be roundly turned back just like those that came before.

My concern about this action; it's the proverbial "camel's nose under the tent". If Obama gets away with it, what's to stop him from coming up with spurious reasons to ban additional cartridges/bullet types?

Boys and Girls. It doesn't matter which side of the walkway you are on. All these CLOWNS in Washington have got to go. Until we get a third viable party that can stand up to these "control freaks that know what is best for you" and vote them out nothing will change.
It will be the two family's fighting it out because they got the most money to spend.
Country turning into Europe= feel good pass fail busybody crowd.
Obama Care
IRS
Iran Nukes
They just keep taking because they know what is best for all of us.......including banding loud fast cars!
Just my opinion!
