Question I.R.S. question

It's good to see that there are others who enjoy the cobra as much as I do! There will be one more snake in the Tucson desert as my FFR kit arrives in Febuary. One question I have that I'm having a hard time getting answered is whether the I.R.S. option is the way to go for overall street enjoyment, autocrossing, and an anual trip to Laguna Seca? I'm worried about durabilty of the
FFR I.R.S. and wheel hop at stoplights. Can anyone tell me with
actual experience about the FFR I.R.S.?

Thanks in advance,

Art Ehman (Tucson, AZ)

Art,

Check out this thread for more thoughts on the subject:

Note especially David Borden's comments. He has a lot of experience in his car -- drives it on the street and some on the track too. In the end -- "you pays your money and you makes your choice". Do what makes you happy.

Having built many FFR's both live axel and IRS it is really personal choise. For racing and general reliability I do prefer the Live axel. The IRS will ride better. If you would like to talk more about it please call me at 480-446-8442.

Hey Art, welcome! I'm in Tucson and if I can be of any assistance in this time of "extreme anticipation" just give me a call. I've got a bone stock (or is that blown stock) FFR with a live axle that might help answer some of your questions. I'll be at work 'til noon today(Fri).

Be nice Mike, Don't scare him right away. There is a NASA event next weekend, you want to come up for it?

Sounds good. Don't have my slicks mounted. It'll be a good time to practice those "spin moves".

Mike,

If you do make it up bring Janet with you. Ginny and her can go shopping. Also, bring the autowelds.

Sat. night we all, Gordon, Dory, you, Janet, hershal, Paula, Jerry, Veronica, Ginny and I can all go out to dinner.

Mike
