The buyer (if legit) got caught up in the bidding and was most likely bidding against a "Shill". The previous "no reserve" auction had a similar high bidder

What is a "Shill"?
How on Ebay am I able to see if the same item has already been listed before and did not sell and who bid on it>

A Shill bid is a fake bid, often it's the seller itself bidding it up under a different user name.
When looking at any item you can look at other items from same seller and then when in that screen click on completed items and it will show past items listed from that seller.

Bob,
For the record, neither of the two books you posted above are worth the asking price(s). Too much fluff, less detail than just spending a day or two here

Steve,
If you want a true turn key near perfect car come look at my Superformance but don't expect a penny under 50k.

Not even sure I could really sell it.
But at this time of year and my future plans I may not use it much either.

Just call Kirkham and get the best, then you wont buy one and sell it and buy another and sell it and eventually get a Kirkham, ask me how I know...

That's a beautiful looking car - love the shade of blue and silver stripes. Very nice.

Superformance builds a quality car and so does ERA. You generally know what you're getting with Superformance as they are factory built & painted turnkey minus (no engine and transmission). ERA is viewed by many as the top glass replica .. outside of a glass Shelby for double the money, or an aluminum Kirkham. With FFR you really need to know WHO built the car as every car is different. Shop with resale value in mind and if you focus on ERA and Superformance you are putting your money into a solid platform.

I agree. The overall quality is awesome and your getting a truly period piece of hardware. It's essentially the real thing, only better! Love mine. Bought right the first time. You'll have this face every time you drive.

Steve, I know the car (SPF #884) and I know the owner Dan. Would hate to see him sell it since he compiles and send out our Arizona Cobra Club e-mails but, this is a great car at the right price. Go see it, drive it. You won't be sorry. He has all possible upgrades (about $5K worth.)

I have so much going on right now.
It seems I miss most day runs because I'm always gone.
I need to reduce toys and this is the most costly toy so why not start there.
If it sells it sells, if it doesn't I will be on the next big run in September.
Now I need to let the wife know, I think she likes my weekends away.

Rat-tat-tat,
Hate to see you sell this one too. In one respect, you're even more fun to harass than Danr, cause you don't carry a gun.
If you do sell, someone will sure get a sorted out, very nice car.
