Default Metro Phoenix area mechanics

Hello all,

I'm getting closer to the 500 mile mark on my new Backdraft #1474.... which means I'll be needing the 500 mile service (basically oil change and lots of bolt and cable tightening/adjusting). I could probably do all this myself however the Backdraft warranty states I need to have this done by a certified mechanic with verified receipt to maintain coverage. Also, I thought I'd have the shop look at a few other items as long as I'm taking it in.

Any suggestions on shops/mechanics in the Phoenix area that you trust? I did hear that Brown's Classic autos employs the lead mechanic from the now defunct BDR dealer in Phoenix however wanted to hear what other referrals you folks may have. Sadly Jay and Brian at Vintage Motorsports are about 2500 miles too far away!

I use Performance Motors on N Countryclub, just south of the 202. He does most of the maintanance on all my cars (era, Porsche, subie, Acura). The Kirkham is currently being finished there. If you are not too far away stop by.

Charlie Sullens ripped myself and others off for thousands of dollars when working at Anthem Motors with John Panfill, he was mentioned in my class action lawsuit, number 2 scumbag in the business next to John, I have all paperwork and receipts to prove it, you know what they say Charlie, karma is a *****, probably why you have had 4 or 5 different jobs since then, can't wait to run into you sometime, sure we will cross paths soon. I vote Jeff Classics, standup guy who knows his stuff and is as honest as they come...

Wow, tell us how you really feel.
Was it Charlie the mechanic who works in the back or John the owner who runs the show who ripped you off?

Jeff Classic, on the north end is an outstanding mechanic and fabricator.
Bob Ream in Glendale is also very good, especially on carbs, FI, and tune up.
Both are good people to keep in your addressbook.

Let's not forget that Backdraft cannot legally require a certified mechanic work on your car to keep the warranty. Same for the receipt. Of course if you do faulty work and it results in a failure, well then...

*Bob Reams, for cars and anything to do with fuel issues. He absolutely prides himself on his work.
*Mike Franzen at 3A is very good.
*Gordon - no better person at setting car up and painter. (He did build me 2 cars) be nice Karl!
*Charlie seems to be honest and has taken care of me and others.
you just have be involved with those that take care of your car. These things are so fragil and yet powerful and expensive.
Maybe the few of us over 90 shouldn't be allowed to drive them
