First Shelby to Auction
Awesome! CSX2000 to be auctioned off in August at the RM Auction in Monteray.
We were told by Gary Patterson on our visit to his original Vegas Museum back in 2009 that Shelby turned down $20M.
Should be interesting.

"We were told by Robert Patterson on our visit to his original Vegas Museum back in 2009 that Shelby turned down $20M."
CS didn't need the money. He had tons in his "foundation".

It's all over Google News in several languages and getting some heavy worldwide publicity.

Cleo Shelby (Carroll's wife at the time of his passing) has filed a court injunction attempting to bar the sale of CSX2000.
It is to be heard on the day OF the auction so I'm assuming the auction can not take place until the case is presented before a judge.
FWIW, when I took my first tour of the Shelby facility on Speedway Blvd in early 2010, our tour guide (Steve Mansell) told us at that time that it was $22mm he passed up. Then on a more recent tour at the new shop the tour guide said $25mm.
So apparently the story keeps growing, with time! <lol>

Ah, the Shelby tradition of bringing legal action continues. Keeps the LAWyers happy.

Sounds like maybe a little internal family drama going on.
Everyone fighting for the scraps??

The Shelby legacy continues - legal drama even after his death. Apparently a family tradition.
When I toured the SAI facility in February 2014 I was told they passed up an offer of $26 million. Maybe they have a wheel they spin before they lead each tour, a dartboard or maybe a set of dice - it is Vegas, after all.

The auction will tell what is out there. All depends who is "in the room". They are certainly promoting the hell out of it!
