"California Dreaming" A little vacation II
This is a new thread about another thread on " A little Vacation" started by Dan.
I just want to update times and places for this trip and as always any suggestions.
Sept 15 leave Phx in early AM and staying in Santa Monica and Canoga Park. Drive down Topanga Canyon to PCH on Friday (16th) morning and take Hwy 1 to Pismo Beach. Staying at Shell Beach Inn (805-773-4373) the 16th and 17th. Travel to Santa Cruz and stay at Ocean Pacific Lodge in Santa Cruz (831-457-1234 the 18th and 19th and check out on 20th. Next leg is over the Golden GAte Bridge to Muir woods and beach. Do not know yet where we are staying the night of the 20th and 21st in Benecia or Sonoma or both . Will update. Travel to Lake Tahoe on the 22nd and stay at Nephew's place 22nd and 23rd for antique boat show. Big BBQ for any and all Cobras in the Area. Let me know if interested. Gary

I've got a suggestion - drive the Snake section of Mulholland Drive
http://http://www.twistypedia.com/ro...lland-highway/
So, instead of Topanga to PCH, take the 101 to Las Virgenes to Mulholland Dr, turn right to drive the Snake, stop at the Rock Store for a cold beverage, then take Kanan Dr to PCH. You can take Mulholland all the way to PCH, but there are stretches that are 1st and 2nd gear lock-to-lock curves - quite an upper body workout!
Enjoy.

MFE III, Thank you. This is exactly the type of input we are looking for.
All suggestions are appreciated!

On the north side of the GG Bridge, through the Muir Wood there is loop road that takes about an hour to drive. I would like to toss that in as part of the cruise.

Sounds like a great trip Gary . I live very near Pismo Beach and you should know about the Donut Derelicts that meet every Saturday (you'll be there Saturday Sept 17th) in the parking lot at the donut shop near Orchard Supply Hardware. A 5 minute drive from your hotel.
Great car show with about 200 to 250 cars in attendance. Yup every Saturday all year round (excepting a few rain days). In by 7:30 am and out by 9:30 am. Great people and great cars.
Have a great and safe trip.
Cheers
Greg

Looks like Wednesday for Martinez. We are going from Santa Cruz to Mendocino on Tuesday. Staying some place around there. Travel thru the Napa towns on the way to Cobra Museum.
