Default Take the Cobra to a Car Show

There are many reasons I have attended so many car shows.
Let me extol on some of them.
A Show is an excuse to drive.
Forces me to get up early, clean up and wear my Arizona Cobras T-Shirt.
Lets me spend the morning/day with car guy’s bench racing. Cobra guys are the most interesting, entertaining people anywhere! I love the guys that show up, we have so much in common, it’s amazing. We could talk for hours. Brings out cobra owners I’ve never met before and expands the AZ Cobras. There is always FUN involved.
Don’t get trophies very often but I have 125+ already, so don’t need more. Even If I don’t win a trophy I still feel my “Babe” is the best of show with rare exception. Same as every one of you guys. If not interested in a trophy, I can leave when I want to.
Frequent T-Shirt and dash plaque with entry. What am I supposed to do with my 250+ dash plaques anyway? T-Shirts are always worn then passed on or used as tire/oil rags.
There is frequently free food, coffee, water etc.
The Show may be for a good cause. Veterans, HS Team or Band, Food Bank, Toy collection, etc. It doesn’t matter the cause for the show. I attend for timing, location and friends.
Gets me out in the good weather. Keeps my vitamin D up.
I’m old, retired and can afford it. It may seem I still attend a lot of shows but no, not nearly as many as 15 years ago.
Exposes the cobra to more people and especially to younger people. I can’t tell you how many times I let Mom or Dad take a photo of Junior or Missy sitting in the driver’s seat. Show me anyone not smiling. How are the youngsters of today ever going to see, touch or sit in a cobra otherwise? Seeing one on the street is only a fleeting moment. Probably over 95% of the public have never been up close with a cobra. If we don’t promote our “Brand,” the cobra could expire with our generation.
There’s always the “departing” part!!!!!

Good summary Bob!

In addition, when I go to a show, I hardly ever hang around my car telling the story of (Shelby Mustang, Cobra, Ford GT, in that order) but instead wander around looking at all the other cool cars and talking to the guys that want to tell their stories. I usually find theirs more interesting than mine.

Not a car show guy, but I attend/enter mine for the exact same reasons. Well said!
