Default MSD 6AL IGN. BOX To Loan?

Does anyone local, have a working MSD 6A or 6AL ignition box, that I can borrow for a couple weeks, when I go on my CA Coast trip next month? I'm wanting to take a spare, on the off chance mine decides to die when I'm far from home.

I am also going to go ahead and buy a new one as a spare. I will order it when I get back from China week of 9/4. I should get it before you guys leave so if someone else wants a backup it is available.

It depends on lots of things including howuch heat the box is subjected to. Bad thing is when they go, they're gone. Can't always go to the corner store and buy a new one.

I am on my third. My extra is actually my first one sent into MSD for rebuild cost of about $45. My second one was just tossed before I knew about the rebuild cost.

No matter where you look, they are around $250 now.
For rebuild you must call Tech Support and get a return code number: https://www.msdperformance.com/support/ You pay shipping. I never asked about warrantee. My return was around 2012 I'm guessing. My unit was from 1999.

I knew someone would have one, collecting dust. Will you bring it to Burger Fest, Tuesday night? Hope your back ailment is greatly improved.

Karl, I am homebound, can't drive, specially a manual transmission. Have lost majority of left leg muscle strength. MRI is late Tuesday afternoon. August is lost. Next step is either Physical Therapy or Surgery. Improvement is slow. Hoping for PT.
Days are spent in bed, chair or taking drugs. Must use walker in between.
Someone will have to pick the MSD 6AL up.

Hope you can get away with the PT instead of surgery Bob. Good luck on the MRI.

Damn Bob, I'm supposed to be the one falling apart not you. I hope you can recover with PT rather than a grand opening.. Let me know if commiseration will help... I've become quite good at that..

When I sold 2290 it had the original one still installed. 17 years and still running.

That would be an unrepeatable record.
