Default Concours in the Hills, Fountain Hills, that is.

The 2018 Fountain Hills Concours Car Show is Feb. 10th. Last year's turn out was excellent and I hope it is again this year. The entry is $60 and all goes to the Phoenix Children's Hospital. Certainly a worthy recipient and a tax deduction.

We will be parked in the same location this year and I'm pretty sure the Cobra Gun Ship will be there again.

Please indicate if you will be attending so I can let the organizer know how many Cobras to expect.

Here's the link to register:

Just got the following from Peter Volny, organizer of the event.

CONCOURS in the HILLS
Saturday February 10, 2018

If you are planning on exhibiting one or more of your cars at Concours in the Hills on Saturday February 10, 2018 we would really appreciate you registering now as we are doing the layout this week and want to ensure that we have enough room for all cars by brand. Last time many cars registered after the layout had been done which created space issues for some clubs and brands. Our goal is to leave enough room so that you can completely open doors on both sides.

Last year we had 647 cars, and one Cobra helicopter, on display. The Cobra is coming back and we are trying to get other military helicopters also.

This is not a formal "white gloves" concours but rather an informal and fun car show for both imports and domestics. It is supported by most of the car clubs in the valley and is a great opportunity to see some awesome cars and make new friends.

Check out a video here: https://vimeo.com/249458676
Register your car(s) now by clicking on the Green TICKETS button at:

Hi guys. Moved back to AZ recently after a few years in Denver. Much better driving weather here for sure. Would like to join the group and meet up with everyone at the Concours. Anything I need to do to join the group? I'll get signed up for the Concours via the link. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Good old Mister Wilson, welcome aboard.
AZ COBRAS is a very select group of the highest caliber folks.(357 mag. and up).
Our rules are few:
No dues,
No meetings,
No whining,
If you show up, great, If you don't, oh well
And finally: There are no rules.
We'll certainly be glad to meet you at the Fountain Hills show. Also, this coming Saturday, some of us are meeting up, in East Bumscrew Mesa, to deliver our donations to a children's home. Come on down, if you wanna.
A word to the wise: watch out for the guy that resembles a garden gnome and drives an orange-ish Cobra. He'll try to tell you that your initiation fee should go to him, where actually, it should go to me.

Wilsonox, welcome aboard. Ignore the senior hippy. He is still trying to catch his last wheel that escaped and tried to run away from home. A long story, I or any of several other folks will be happy to share with you any time. Don't let his stories scare you. I mean what can you say about a guy who keeps a Chevette at home to drive when it gets hot. Sorry. I mean Corvette. Hope to see you on Saturday about 2:30 at the Chevron station at Recker and McDowell in Mesa.

I got a note from Peter that he's received only 16 Cobra entries. Really?

This is one great show with mind boggling cars and at a perfect venue. The entry fee all goes to the Children's Hospital and is tax deductible, so what's not to like?

I'm certainly looking forward to attending again this year and hope to see a lot of our Cobra Crazies show up.

I'll be posting our meeting point and time, as we get closer to the date. (02/10/18)

I hope the crowd realizes that this is not like most of our events. You can't just show up for this one and "slide in". You have to do a little bit of planning. This one actually checks to make sure you are registered. So....sign up and show up.

I just received this from Amy, about the Concours in the Hills. Its less than two weeks away and the entry fee is going up very soon. Of course, if you want to go, and spend $20 more, just hold off a little longer. The Children's Hospital will receive more of your money.

Phoenix Children's Hospital is honored to be the beneficiary of the 5th Annual Scuderia Southwest Concours in the Hills. Please see below for a message from event organizers.

If you have not yet registered for Concours in the Hills on Saturday February 10, the reduced advance rate of just $60 expires on Thursday, February 1, after which it will become $80 per vehicle.

The show is held in what is undoubtedly the most spectacular setting for a car show in the valley, on the grass around the lake and fountain in Fountain Hills. In 2017, 647 cars and 71 dealers/vendors were on display resulting in over $90,000 for charity. Phoenix Children’s Hospital is the charitable partner for 2018. Your vehicle display fee is 100% tax-deductible.
Thanks to two entrances/exits, and a simplified entry procedure, last year we were able to get all the cars in and out with virtually no delays and everyone seemed to enjoy the show. The Concours is supported by the leading car clubs of Arizona representing Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren, Maserati, Jaguar, Corvette, Viper, Ford GT, Lotus, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Alfa Romeo, DeTomaso, DeLorean, Mustang, Cadillac, Mazda and others.

In anticipation of even greater attendance this year, we are making more adjustments to improve the show and create more space resulting in less cramming. In addition, there will be more food trucks and more washrooms.

This is not a formal “white gloves” concours but rather a relaxed and fun event designed to allow enthusiasts to display their own vehicles and admire others. We welcome all high-performance, sports, classic, race, muscle, hot-rods, imports and domestics.
