Yes, tru dat. Our deposits at the lodge are non-refundable, but can be applied to a later stay. HOWEVER, the kicker is, the room would have to be canceled at least 7 days in advance. Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't. Fortunately, for me, at least, my deposit was only about $45. Wouldn't want to lose it but I've been known to p**s more of my wife's hard earned money.

I'm gonna have to go with Springerville. Sorry the group has to be split up. Maybe we'll get all the cigar smoking, scotch drinking, joke telling partyers in one group !

People wanted to stay in Hannigan Meadows so i followed up. Then people change there mind is all. Not splitting the group up, just drinking earlier than some . Still meet up for breakfast, though ones at the meadow will be colder. Remember the words of Eddie Rabbit, driving my life away!!!

Gary, we all understand what the inspiration was and we all agree. You are right. Hannigan Meadow Lodge is a great place to stay. If I knew for sure that the monsoon would be over by then or if I could afford to toss the deposit, I would probably go for it, but I am not and I cannot. So I have to go with what is closer to a sure thing. I will call Americas Best this week and see what kind of deal I can get for the club. I will post the info after the call.

Thanks Dan. I have confused enough people on this run. I know about the deposit but figured we would use at some point in time if had to cancel. That's me though. So far so good on weather in the past. Of course it snowed on us in Lake Tahoe in the middle of September.

I often wondered if that was dumb luck or if there was a black, weather cloud following Scotty around. Given the number of times we've held this run the last weekend in September and been rained on, I just find planning this far ahead speculative.

Snow my a**! That was sleet, but then again, the people that wanted to go into town, rather than bedding down in the nice covered barn, had a TOP and maybe even a heater. Scottie will never forgive them.

So I made a reservation last week for Hannagan Meadows and now there's discussion of reserving in Springerville. What gives? Are people not staying at HM now?

Folks are staying in both places Doc. Some of us don't want to or can't afford to stay at the Lodge. Just like some people are driving the Coronado Trail and some people are going on the Great Western New Mexico run.

Some are not or chose not to. So far four in Hannigan Meadows. Circumstances and the Mexican restaurant in Springerville. The run is still going to be good and fast as long as Keith runs interference for us.

I wish I could go with you. Just can't make a full weekend run work given my schedule. I am sure it will be fun and if it looks like the monsoon is hanging around just drive your Mustang, Corvette, GTI or whatever!

Or your Dodge truck? I don't think so. If the monsoon hangs around we will do as in past years and move it back a week at a time until that nasty old monsoon goes away.

I just made my reservation for Saturday night the 15th at America's Best. Jigs is the manager. $58.88 + tax. I blocked off the lower 5 rooms on the end of the wing across the parking lot from the office. ( Sept 15 )

BobbyB, you might SAY you don't snore any more, but for rooming next to Sckttie, leave your Cpap machine at home, just for one night.

Just talked with Gary Stubbs. He says they have two available cabins at Hannigan Meadow if anyone is interested. Contact Gary directly. He has to call by tomorrow.
