Default Coronado Trail Run

A collective agreement on the date is September 15, 2018. This is a Saturday to make sure if any errors occur. Some have decided to stay at Hannigan Meadows on Saturday night rather than go into Springerville. I for one am staying at Hannigan Meadows as well as Al and Patti, Keith , i believe Danr. and probably Scotty. There are seven units reserved under Gary for the Az Cobra Club. It is a first come first serve basis. The cottages can be had but on a minimum of 2 night stay.

I'm good for the date. I'll be staying in Springerville. That will make for an easier drive Sunday morning to get to Showlow for breakfast.
I also really enjoyed the route Bob and I took last year, going up through NM and will probably do that again.
I know, I know...run buster...
oh wait, that guy isn't around the site anymore.

Gary, if you take the route through New Mexico, it breaks off in Morenci and runs west and south to Mule Creek then turns north. It come back in North of Hannigan Meadow and essentially bypasses that entire stretch. There is some serious back tracking if you want to hit both.

There are some nice turns on the alternate route. A few marked 30 and even a couple 20s but what I really liked were the wide sweeping 50s that were fun at 80+. The 460 turns on the 119 mile Devil's Hwy. get a little tiresome, to me.

Danr, where Bob and I came out was actually 19 miles north of Hannigan's meadow. That's why we just went on to Springerville, last year. We figured that everyone would have finished with their lunch by the time we got there. Our little detour took some extra time. (Duncan, was it?) Someplace toothless.

So you didnt go all the way to Datl and then come back. You came out at Alpine. Thats not quite so much backtracking. Maybe we will change the name to the West New Mexico Run. I prefer the traditional route but we shall see.

Sounds like everyone will be staying at Hannigan Meadows, so I will too. Reserved room 23. Will miss the good Mexican food at Booga Red's in Springerville, but oh well. Looking forward to it, of course. I'll still be with youse the majority of the weekend. Yep, yer lucky day!

Since I've got more money, than my wife will let me spend, I'll drop the higher bucks for the Lodge, this time. Fortunately, I was able to get one of the "small" rooms for only $95.
I have talked to two of the folks that won't.

Looking forward to the outing, I am, I am.

Recognizing the tendency of the weather that time of year, do y'all have an alternate plan if we have a late monsoon this year and it's raining that weekend?

I also have a room reserved at Springerville. It is really too early to set a non-refundable date. That is the main reason this run is rarely set before mid July. I hope it works.
