Default 351-W Parts Wanted

Anybody local got any 351 Windsor parts for a good price? I started my truck yesterday and something went 'Boing!' in the engine. Antifreeze blowing out the passenger exhaust pipe, and the radiator drained quickly into the crankcase. I'm thinkin' there's something seriously broke in there!

Right now I'm looking at options, like whether I just get a 351 junkyard core and do a straight rebuild with a mild cam and a 4 barrel, or maybe someone else upgraded and has a decent motor (or parts) for sale at a good price. The current engine is just a plain 351 2 barrel, and I'd like to end up with just a bit more 'go'. Not a hot rod, just a bit more oomph.

Sorry Stan can't help you. Maybe you should truy a real motor a big block!

Danr, with all the headaches you've had with your big blocks, how can you recommend that Stan, er Ron, that is, get one of those?

Y'know, Shon, you make a good point. I could use a nice 352 FE and gain a full cubic inch, and it would be much cheaper than 351 parts. I could probably sell some of my small block parts to Bearl. :-)

This is fun! So you take the first two letters of the last name, add a vowel or two, then end with the last letter or two of the first name... Tony Tony bo-bony, bonana-nana fo-fony... fee-fi momony Tony!

I wouldn't mind finding a small block C4 (truck/Van) or C6. I know a guy who can rebuild those -- has a funny name like Nniets or Stan or something.

I have a 351 W core motor you can have. It's a complete short block and heads. It has been sitting for a long time and it's in Ca central valley but the price is right.

Thanks redmt, but I was kinda looking for something about 600 miles closer. I know, I know - I'm too fussy. My wife says the same thing. :-)

Well,,, I could move it a couple hundred feet across the yard if that would help? For a core engine, it's probably worth the time and fuel at about 50-75 miles,,,,,,,,

Karl, Couldn't you see my tongue in my cheek when I said that? It was intended as a joke.

Stan, After our conversation at Idaho Rd. the other day, I was sure you would recognize the sarcasm.

I guess I'm not holding my mouth just right.

Well, Danr, I knew the FoMoCo big block suggestion was either sarcasm or delusional.

The "stan" part? Well, some of us are getting along in age...
