Question New FFR Type 65 Coupe Owner here with a question about shops and best DMV in Arizona

Hello gents,
1st off Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays

I'm a Newbie here but it's been a long time coming and I finally had a chance to pick up a FFR Coyote powered Gen 3 type 65 coupe and cant wait to enjoy it.
Big shout out to j65mustang for being a great seller.

1st question I have is who knows which DMV in the Phoenix Metro Arizona area (I live in Cave Creek) is the best/easiest to go to in order to register/level II inspect the car so i can title it?

2nd question would be which shop would be best and able to set my suspension and do an alignment on it? According to previous owner, he set it up per FFR specs but this thing tracks all over the place above 20 mph
I really don't want to take it to a random shop who has never touched one before end up spending more taking it somewhere else

I apologize if this has already been asked and answered.
Any help would be very much appreciated

Regards,
Dino Trakas

Welcome to AZ Dino. You'll get a lot of use for the coupe here. We have a cobra specialist, Charlie Sullens at American Legends not far from you. Here is their website. https://alhotrods.com/ Don't know where to send you for licensing Been a long time. If it is already licensed in another state as a 1965, it should be simple.
Merry Christmas Back at you and yours
AZ Bob

Welcome to AZ Dino. It has been a while since I registered my Cobra but I did it at the Scottsdale DMV. It was quick and painless, or at least as painless as it gets at the DMV.

You might give them a call and ask just what you need to register the car, might be able to make a reservation to get the car inspected but not sure, mine is registered as a 1964 Cobra Roadster, they will assign a AZ registration number. As Bob said in Arizona cars are registered as what they represent so it shouldn't be to hard. At least Scottsdale DMV is close to where you live in Cave Creek. Charlie's shop is good, he is the one who did the work to get my car road ready and I liked his work. Merry Christmas, look forward to meeting you on one of our runs.

I did mine 3 yrs ago at the Scottsdale office that Keith mentions. You will need all your paperwork (receipts and/or bill of sale) and need a Level 2 inspection which they only do Mon-Thursday. No appointment. Get there early and line up. They will review your paperwork and inspect your car and then send you next door for the title and registration..from that point it is pretty straightforward.

Charlie is the go to guy to get your car ready to go....

Mike.

Dino, welcome to the madness. You're just in time to make a nice little run with us on New Years Day. The specifics are here on AZ Cobras, Club Cobra.

Hi Dino,
Welcome to Phoenix.
The FFR alignment specs are good, their techs may be where you want to start for insight. FFR phone number 508 291-3443. The big tires and aggressive alignment will cause trammeling, but it shouldn't be all over the road at 20 mph. Check and ensure all steering/suspension components are tight, front and back.

Mark

Hi and thank you Mark.

I was planning on calling FFR come Thursday in case they can possible point me in the right direction.
I too thought this isn't right for 20mph but figured that it could be since it has 18" wheels front and rear with 295/30/ZR18 up front and 315/30/ZR18 out back and that he never did take it to an alignment shop.

I will see what FFR says and will more than likely still take it to Charlie to get it all dialed in.

I did my roadster at Mesa. They understood the FFR completely and it was painless.

Last December at East Valley Auto Drive. The woman inspection officer knew exactly what is was and the Manager of the DMV had a Kit car herself, some kind of Porsche/VW.
