Torino, I was very sad to hear of Eric's death. We worked together for several years and stayed in limited touch after I retired. He went on several Cobra runs with me and I think that set the Cobra hook in. Other than on the strip, I went faster with Eric in my first Cobra, than I'd ever gone. We were on the road down to Florence and a National Guard convoy and then a prison bus got in our way so I just HAD to pass them. Bear in mind that's just a two lane road and by the time we'd gotten around them I looked and saw that we were just shy of 135MPH. Having his additional 240#s helped hold the car down and the front end was not feeling it's usual lightness. Shoot me an eMail. karlbebout@gmail.com |
