Wickenburg Gold Rush Parade
Feb 11th, week after Concourse in the Hills.
We have been invited by our own Bob Fitzgerald to present our cobras in the Gold Rush Parade... https://outwickenburgway.com/event/7...ior-pro-rodeo/ This is the request from Fitz: Bob could you throw this contact info onto the AZ Cobra Web sites as I have entered. Have guys fill out form and sign up as group!? Use my name with Tracy. I am trying get few Wickenburg Ranch Gold to join in. Trust me if you can get 10-12 cars you will be a hit! The Corvette Club always is there along with other hot rods. Here are contact details: fitzus1@gmail.com https://i.postimg.cc/MGrsJ3h7/Wicken...-001-Small.jpg When I lived in Wickenburg, my boys and I marched in the parade twice. Looked like cowboys. Panned for GOLD! Might be fun if you can drive at idle speed. AZ Bob |
This sounds like fun. Here's the parade entry info link - and actual form below. Who wants to handle organizing and filling out the form?

Sounds like we have enough interest to pursue. I'll look into it next week after the Christmas food high.

I have filled out the forms for the parade with 10 cars. I have sent the form with check to the Chamber in Wickenburg. Will let you know parade position, meeting place and time when I know more. There are restrictions, like no candy tossing and assume no burn outs. I suggest you perhaps wear a cowboy hat and decorate your car with a flag or two. This is a walking pace so prepare your motor. I prop the rear of my hood open and turn on my radiator fans.

I would like to join in the parade. The float we had planned can not be done in time. So the cobra group would be cool
|
Scott, you and mostly Louise, are welcome to join. I will include your name.
AZ Bob |
Include Gary and Vikki. We now have babysitter!!!
|
Bruce, Dan, Gary, Mike, John, Juan, Scott, Jeff. That's 9 so far. I'm guessing I can expand the number until entry deadline Jan 31.
AZ Bob |
we normally do a BBQ after the parade for those who come up. We will be happy to host for anyone wishing to stop by after. nothing big jut hot dogs or burgers
|
Kind of you to offer Scott. I can probably speak for everyone and say thank you, we will be there. Not a long dirt road is it?
AZ Bob |
Not to worry, its a short dirt road. Mark, Jim, Jeff and I all get the cobras down it just fine.
|
Jeff & Patti will join the fun!
|
Jeff, you & Pati are added.

Will post here and FB ASAP. Final gathering will be at Burger King, Wickenburg 8am before proceeding together to parade setup. Staging in line is scheduled for 8:30am & parade starts at 10am with 150 entries.
Follow up after parade is a food gathering at Scott & Louises' home. Will call again tomorrow. Weather looks great! AZ Bob |
East siders can gather at the Chevron on Carefree Hwy & I-17, West siders at Juan's spot, Fry's fuel stop on Lake Pleasant Pkwy just north of Happy Valley. Both at 7:15am
Still have room for more. AZ Bob |
We are planning on food afterwards along with our neighbors. We always have a get together after the parade. Then nobody has to drive on our dirt road.
|
Thanks Scott. I talked to Tracy at the Chamber today. She has confirmed our entry and will let me know time and place to line up by tomorrow.
Of course I will post ASAP AZ Bob |
Thanks, Bob for arranging - we'll plan to meet up at the I17 Chevron at 715 with the rest of the east siders. Look forward to getting out!
