Default Picnic rained out

Well,

Here in SUNNY az we had some unexpected weather...It rained on our picnic. Let's try for next weekend April, 13th. Get your mind off your taxes.

2 Cobras showed up.. Mike & Ginny...Paul & Betsy and the ever present Bob B. Bob drove his P.U..

Ginny and I went up through CaveCreek and CareFree in the pouring rain. No top....Drove back to the meetig place and found Bob waiting. Sahort time later Paul showed up all wet. He put his top up for the ride home...No rain.

Here are a few pics of the soggy group.

This one is a little dark...Just this was after taken we experienced lots of lightning...

Mike

P.S. I'm not going to pick on Hersh today....Yes, he wimped out.

Angry Wimps!

Marilyn & I drove 125 miles to the lake, drove around to all the different picnic areas to find nothing! It was sunny and warm by noon time at the lake.

Sorry, Bill

We waited at the gas station for over 2 hours and the rain did not let up. Decided nobody else was going to show. When we left it was very black over carefree/cavecreek....Now it's nice.

Just can't win. Murphy follows me everywhere.

I hope the Tucson guys had a better day.

Mike

P.S. Are you coming down here or taking the northern route to Knotts?

We drove up about 12:00 from east Mesa, saw the Red 427 with the black top up coming the other way, then while at the parking pay area saw a blue 427 leaving as well. I can certainly understand while no one waited though as we could see lightning up that way about 10:00. Don't regret the drive though as we stopped off at the Pavilions on the way home and looked around.

Exclamation Rattlesnake Cove

It is probably for the best, as the CCCA (chrysler Club of America) was using Rattlesnake cove.

Bill, My plan was to get out there at 8am....grab a couple of tables and mark off some parking for the cobras..I had confirmed that I could do this with the forest service and they said it was OK. I even looked into getting the private location used and reserved for large gatherings, but the parking space was not big enough.

Next week I'll do the same.

Mikie:

We tried, really we did. We live off of Ellsworth and McKellips, and the thunder, lightning and sprinkles started around 7:30 in the morning and continued off and on until past 11. Even then, we kept looking to the north at the black clouds and decided that we really didn’t need really to spend the next week trying to get the water out of the carpets. Next weekend sounds like a much better idea.

Chopper,

I figure that's how alot of the gang felt. Me being the ever optimist, I thought it would blow over. Even driving through the rain, which was heavy at times I thought it would clear up. The many motorcycles I passed in Cavecreek would look over an laugh..Knowing there was some one more dumb than them on the road.

Yup, Next week is it...

Default Picnic on April 13th

Sorry, guys, can't make picnic next Saturday. Already committed to 2 car shows (paid up). Morning at Deer Valley High School 9am to 3pm for Band Boosters then evening 3pm to 8pm at Turf Paradise for North Valley Partnership. The Semi-Annual Cruise on Central is also Saturday from about 3pm to late at night. Going to miss that too.
Wed is visit to magic carburater guy at B & R Automotive at 27th Ave and McDowell. Trying to fix rich idle blues. Will report.
I guess I'll have to visit Hershel for my patches.

For you guys looking to set up a Dyno Day, here is a place that will do 10 cars or more on a Saturday for Max $50 per car including lunch and a fuel curve:

Street Flight
545 S Robson
