I fell into the Recon Vehicle trap back in '97 and had to smog it. The next year started a 5-year exemption. This year I had to smog it again. Well, no way was I going to pass w/o the cats, pump and a lean profile so I retrofitted all that crap and went in. I swear it was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. The first woman thinks it's a brand new jap car, doesn't even have me pop the hood and hollers to the next guy OBD...OBD for him to get out the OBD computer link. I get up to the roller and he asks me where the computer is. Well I knew where this was going, but showed him the computer anyway. After a lot of head scratching and circle jerking, he calls the guru over, guru points to my 427 badge, clicks some stuff in his computer and I do a test. You guessed it...a CO window of 1200! Well I blew a 39. Hell I coulda done that w/o touching the motor!
