Nude car show this Sunday, 10-20-02
Mikec, Aida and I are planning to attend this car show. We probably won't leave Tucson until about 9:00am or so. That would put us in north Phoenix about 11:15am. Can we meet up with anyone? If not, how do we get to the show ? Our weather forecasts are for temps in the upper 80's to low 90's so I'd guess that you'll be a little warmer. What should we wear ??? John

It will be good to see you again.
Directions.....Head towards Flagstaff. At the Carefree Highway exit go right or east. When you come to 7th street turn left or north. Stay on 7th and you will see Shangra la resort.
Temps for Sunday mid 80's
There is a caravan leaving at 7:30 here in Phx.

Your slim compared to some of them.
However to be considered you need to have your equipment pierced and covered in rings. From top to bottom....OUCH!!!!

The show was much smaller than last year. About 60 + cars. Last year 160+. The scenery was about the same. Makes you appreciate what you have. Weather was great...Mid 80's. Sorry no pics....Cameras are only allowed if you are a member of the resort.
Bill, You were missed.
John-Tucson got there late. I might have given him incomplete directions.
John-Tucson...I looked for you when we had to leave. The people riding with me and Ginny needed to get home and feed the dog. We were going to invite you over to the house to rest up before your drive back to Tucson. As always...good to see you.

Mikec, What do you mean " I might have given him incomplete directions " !!! On the way out I checked the mileage and you dumped me over three miles from the nudiest camp !!! Did you happen to notice all the dust on my car from driving on dirt roads for almost an hour while I looked for the resort ? For the Cobra owners back east, this nudest resort is out in the desert about an hours drive from Phoenix. As Mikec has said, no camers, however, since beauty is in the eye of the beholder I had to wash out my eyes when I got home. Oh yes, As we sat around the cars on our foldable chairs you can imagine what part of the nude body is at eye level. And, my wife asked me when I got home if I'd seen anything of interest !!!!!!!!!!!It was an eye opening experience that I will do again next year. Mikec, sorry that I missed you leaving. I had a great time. The return trip took three hours. I now have over 2,100 miles on the Cobra.

I just re-read this.....
Now, I do not feel so bad you getting lost. If I remember you said that you turned on 7th ave ....Directions said 7th street.
Ok, I know I said you would see the resort....I goofed on that one..but there was a sign on the road and a street sign stating Shangri La rd. Sounds like the right place to me.....

Mikec, just be The Man and admit that you goofed. Your instructions ended with me over three miles from the resort. Just say " I'm sorry " and we'll move on. If you don't - life will be difficult until next year and the Shangra La Resort Car Show. I am planning to drive up to Chandler on Saturday - oh yes, I do have the instructions about how to get there. Hope to see you there. John

What time do you plan on being in Chandler on Sat.? Might be able to meet you at the rest area just north of Casa Grande and then drive over together.
