After attempting to fix the transmission myself and failing, i took it to Automatic Transmission Exchange near the PHX airport. They said the transmission was trashed - apparently I shattered the pump - they said the transmission had not been rebuilt correctly - but who knows - and metal is everywhere in the trans. I haven't had them do any work before and because it is a complete rebuild - I wanted to see if anyone had used them before --on any type of car
The other option is i could buy a "new" Lentech or Hughes for less money but i wouldn't get the local warrenty --
Thanks for reading - hope to be on the road soon and not leaking
Jim, I'm very satisfied with my Hughes TH 400 and 10" convertor. They are located right here in Phoenix, about VanBuren and I10. They gave me quick service and were good to deal with.

Harley. I have a buddy who owes a tranny shop but it is located in N W Phx. I see you are on other end of the valley. May be worth the drive for your cash and carry AOD. Call me if you want more info. It would have a full Warr. and that is important. Jeff C.
Karl, vettestr - thanks for the input, at this point i just want a transmission that will work and continue to be reliable - I am so disappointed in this transmission - it only has 800 miles on it - and I purchased it from a know national transmission company.
Jeff i will give you a call - because it is a complete rebuild - i think getting an estimate should be easy
Jim, don't give up on the AOD. I now have over 21,000 miles on mine, it was rebuilt here in Tucson. If the guys in Phoenix can't help, let me know. I feel that you'll find a compent shop up there. By the way, I had Anthem Motors do some work on my Cobra and am very pleased, perhaps John there would have a suggestion on a transmission shop for you. John
