Wink The "F" word

I finally decided to see if the engine in my Ferrari 250 GTO kit would start. All I had to do was turn the key! This 5.0 has a lot more guts than my FFR's stock 5.0 had. It makes the old Cobra engine sound like a sewing machine. The Brown Truck brought the custom Dayton wire wheels yesterday and the radial T/A's get mounted on Tuesday. The upholstery shop promised the seats and door panels would be finished on Tuesday as well.
See you at Knott's

Default If you didn't build it

Yep, I have built 5 cars in the last 15 years. They are all still my babies, even the ones that I no longer own.

To head this thread off at the pass, let me say that I don't believe these cars are ever built, That would imply that the process has been completed. Just when I think I am "done", something breaks or an upgrade is avaialble that I just have to have. To that end, all cobras are built by their owners, just purchased at different stages of completion.

Default Done?

Agree, but I am not sure how many of us can say that we "built the car from the ground up" It is one thing to spend the weekend replacing valve covers, and another spending 2.5 years building your dream. I can understand why so many of these cars sit in garages not complete, and why so many of us buy them complete.
I for one must touch every part, from the rod, timming the cam to the suspension, to the wiring, to the interior , to the paint job on the car, and that is why it took me 2.5 years......
Different horses for different courses, we all are custom car builders at our own levels,
Glad to hear that the motor turned over, I have seen these cars complete and they look awsome!
Have fun!
Brian
