Mike,

Sure looking forward to catching up.

Particularly wanting to catch up with Hersh whom I know is hurting badly with the RF40 situation.

I'm not close enough to the business or involved to comment with any certainty on what has transpired over the last few weeks.

I do however know with certainty that Hersh is doing everything in his power to try and find out what has happened. I know Hersh has lost considerably.

I am somewhat embarrassed - being here in Australia -that I have not been able to assist Hersh with more detail on what is going on.

Yes the factory in Melbourne, Australia is closed and yes the business is being looked at by both accountants and legal people.

My only understanding of Roberts predicament is that he appears to have lost everything in the set up and ongoing business with the manufacturing of the GT40's in South Africa.

I watched him travel to and from South Africa and heard - all be it second hand - that things were just not moving in South Africa. There appeared to be a 'go slow' in manufacturing his bodies and chassis.

I do not know if this was deliberate or not. But asked the question as to why manufacturing was not ongoing. Why paid staff just did not work on getting the bodies and chassis built.

I do know Robert was paying many dollars into the company to keep things moving and meet deadlines for customers.

For some reason known only to Robert and the South African side of the business, it appeared everything came to a grinding halt when Robert realised that the South African business was a bottomless money pit and his money was just being used with no apparent return. Simply they were taking the money that he gave them and just did not deliver.

Like many GT40 enthusiasts, I watched the two bodies packed and freighted to the United Kingdom and thought things appeared to be going fine.

I was about to place an order and became concerned when work in South Africa just appeared to stop when Robert returned to Australia after each visit.

So in answer to your question Robert will not be heading over to Knotts as far as I know.

I'm heading over to catch up with Hersh and you guys there.

Hope you can talk with Hersh to ensure that he has his chin up. I do know that this has been a major set back for him.

Thanks

Bernie
