Default Aussie invasion...by one

Well hi to all in Arizona.

The good news/or bad news is I'm on my way back.

Hope to be in Phoenix around the 18th of April. A few days there prior to going up to Knotts.

I'll be ringing Hershal tomorrow to see if it's Ok to sleep in his garage again.....

Look forward to catching up. Will be around for a few days after Knotts.

Itinerary;

Arrive Phoennix at 3.06pm on 18th.

Knotts over the weekend.

Leave Phoennix at 3.50pm on the 27th.

That is if Security don't get me carrying in car parts again...

Cheers

Bernie

Bernie...

Looking forward to seeing you again.

I take it Robert is not coming. That's understandable.

Mike,

Sure looking forward to catching up.

Particularly wanting to catch up with Hersh whom I know is hurting badly with the RF40 situation.

I'm not close enough to the business or involved to comment with any certainty on what has transpired over the last few weeks.

I do however know with certainty that Hersh is doing everything in his power to try and find out what has happened. I know Hersh has lost considerably.

I am somewhat embarrassed - being here in Australia -that I have not been able to assist Hersh with more detail on what is going on.

Yes the factory in Melbourne, Australia is closed and yes the business is being looked at by both accountants and legal people.

My only understanding of Roberts predicament is that he appears to have lost everything in the set up and ongoing business with the manufacturing of the GT40's in South Africa.

I watched him travel to and from South Africa and heard - all be it second hand - that things were just not moving in South Africa. There appeared to be a 'go slow' in manufacturing his bodies and chassis.

I do not know if this was deliberate or not. But asked the question as to why manufacturing was not ongoing. Why paid staff just did not work on getting the bodies and chassis built.

I do know Robert was paying many dollars into the company to keep things moving and meet deadlines for customers.

For some reason known only to Robert and the South African side of the business, it appeared everything came to a grinding halt when Robert realised that the South African business was a bottomless money pit and his money was just being used with no apparent return. Simply they were taking the money that he gave them and just did not deliver.

Like many GT40 enthusiasts, I watched the two bodies packed and freighted to the United Kingdom and thought things appeared to be going fine.

I was about to place an order and became concerned when work in South Africa just appeared to stop when Robert returned to Australia after each visit.

So in answer to your question Robert will not be heading over to Knotts as far as I know.

I'm heading over to catch up with Hersh and you guys there.

Hope you can talk with Hersh to ensure that he has his chin up. I do know that this has been a major set back for him.

Thanks

Bernie

Bernie,

Thanks for the info.

I have added my 2 cents worth on Hershal's behalf in the affected RF GT40 customers thread.

Hi Bernie, I have just watched the Austrailian F1 Grand Prix from Melbourne and it was quite a race, even to the last 100 yards ! The course looks beautiful with all of the green trees and city in the background. Perhaps one day I'll be able to be there in person. I will be out of the country when you are here so I'll wish you a safe flight and enjoyable stay. John

John

Probaly one of the most action packed F1 GP's for some time. My son was right on the finish line and watched the action unfold before him. Think he even was covered with a little oil...

Look forward to you travelling across at some stage. Think I owe you a drive down the Great Ocean Road in my Cobra..

Hi all,

Just an update all flights confirmed.

In on the 18th and out on the 27th.

As I'm spending a few days in Japan learning how to make 'Sushi burgers' I have kept my visit a little short..

Cheers

Bernie

Bernie

No, the US is being plagued by a rash of illegal immigrant protests... only in America.. they are in favour of illegal immigration! There were half a million of these criminals in LA today and 50,000 in Phoenix...

Honestly, as a person who waited their turn and got a Green Card, this really annoys me. Particularily as the illegals are trying to put this in some stupid race context. Forget the fact that they are here illegally, they break another law by using a false social security number to work. That is identity theft as well. The police made a mistake, when these leeches were marching, they should have directed them to the border. There is an argument by the terminally stupid that they work for wages that the citizenry would not accept. Think if they weren't here the free market would increase those wages? Imagine Australia with a million illegal Malaysians. You would not be pleased...

Damnnn and I was going to try and get a Greeen Card...

I noticed that the border patrols seem very organised but anyone who does get in seems to be ok - perhaps to simplistic.
