The folks at Anthem will get you going Tom. I look forward to seeing you Tuesday. That is if I can break loose. It is coming to crunch time getting ready for Knotts.
Got stopped by the local PD right in front of Anthem this Afternoon! No ticket or anything just a warning that he thought the pipes were a little loud. The pipes were not too loud, think he just wanted to check things out. The car was on its way to get a 4 wheel alignment so it too will be set for Knotts. See ya all there !

Thanks Bob and Jeff,
Yep - this is certainly none of Anthem's doing. John has been very helpful with my installation and everything I've asked of him. I already have a tracking number and invoice, and they were very accommodating in having the lights shipped to my place, saving me another trip to Phoenix (though I usually go there every week at least once anyhow). Lights are being overnighted tomorrow, so maybe, just maybe - I'll bring my new baby to Tues. night meeting...how many times have I said this? This time looks good, though, all seriousness aside.

And I hear your new baby has a nice set of headlights - it's downhill from here on - congrats on a job well done.

Lo and behold, this morning DHL brought them! Looks beautiful now! I'll try to upload a picture, but haven't had any luck being able to upload pictures lately. I even removed some to make room, but still cannot upload, even the ones I removed can't be put back.
I'm going to try to get to the meeting tomorrow, if I survive another trip to DMV (today's did not go well). Now I know how to spell "incompetent" using only 3 letters.

Sorry, could not upload the photos. I get the message that they were uploaded successfully, but nothing was there. Windows/Mac, makes no difference.

What DMV are you going to (Wickenburg?) and what problems are you having?
Most places in the Phoenix metro area are not a problem, especially the one on Greenfield and US60.

Wickenburg was fine. The first one I went to spent so much time talking with the supervisor (I assume) that it was closing time before issues were resolved. (After 25 minutes, I was told I needed a bill of sale - I had one, but the clerk was so busy talking to the supervisor, she had not noticed the bill of sale.) The next day, the office in Wickenburg was fine. I went in early, and it wasn't crowded. I got it registered, but there still was some question as to what level inspection is required.

Tom
I went to the Greenfield DMV and was told that I needed a Level 2 inspection. Wolverine went to the same place and they told him he only needed a Level 1.
Don't think any of them knows what they are doing.

My guess is that it has recently changed to a level one requirement. But Wickenburg hadn't got the word. Even so, they accepted the inspection report I got from Glendale.

Congratuations Tom. I know it must be an exciting time for you. I'm in the building stage too but not as far along as you. I assume you are building from a kit. What brand is it and about how many man hours have you spent?

Very exciting - what a blast it is to drive. I was sort of dreading finishing, I had such a great time putting it together. I bought a Superformance, so only and to install the drivetrain (and quite a lot of other stuff). I also had a great helper (or was I the helper?). He spent a couple of months here and we worked on the car and did some motorcycle rides. Just worked at an easy pace with no time pressure, but it went very smoothly with no real big problems. No idea how many hours. Lots of time was spent waiting for things, and a couple of items (like the slip yoke) were defective and had to be exchanged. The car arrived in Feb., and I finally got 'er on the road about 10 days ago. Still have some projects to do, but it's completely driveable now.
Installed a new starter today after the one that came with the engine malfunctioned (would not shut off). I would upload pictures here, but for some reason that feature seems to be inoperative.
I'm closing in on 1,000 miles already!
Tom
