count me in as long as tech is no problem and we get some time on the track. The last club day I got 3 runs in and it took all day. Greg

Club Day Speed World
I headed over to Speed World Club day 19 November 2006. No other Cobras were there that I found, so I guess I came in last and first for the Arizona Cobra Club. When racing was underway TAG weather station read a little over 3000 ft DA and got worse later in the day. I made a first pass and missed third gear so gave up on that run. I made one more pass with 1200 RPM start.
3000+ DA
60ft 1.688
1/8 time 7.184
1/8 speed 99.197
1/4 time 11.125
1/4 speed 125.293
I'm happy that's around a 10.7 @ 130 for sea level corrected out of Superformance Side pipes on a lazy launch if one wanted to compare apples to apples. For the Scottsdale Exotic Car Club day coming up in a couple weeks I'll have on my Buckshot Racefab side pipes. It will be interesting to see how they do at the strip with sea level correction time. The actual day will perform better just because it will be much cooler.
Other cars that were there at Club day were pretty cool. Corvette Club had twin turbo C5 with methanol injection and nitrous oxide low 12. Mustang club had a silly fast car running in the 9s. Scottsdale Exotic Car had plenty of hot cars too. Stock C6 Z06 in low 13s, Porsche 997tt modified Evolution Motorsports mid 11s, Dodge Charger dual quad with 300 shot slicks race auto trans in low 10s, Mercedes SL600 RENNtech mid 11s, Porsche GT2 GT700 package low 11s, Lamborghini Gallardo low 13s, Lamborghini Countach 15s, and some others.

Greg, those are some AWSUM times I wish I could hook up like that. Remember to post that 11.125 on the SCOF time log. You'll be "up there"

Eric, I am not sure if I will be at KMart this Saturday so hopefully Karl will chime in.
That Saturday is my B-Day so I do not think that I will be at the strip, expecially after getting my side pipes handed to me from a chevy-cobra at the last go-around.... Have fun guys!

I've already been in the high 10s with 1.8xx 60ft before the heat of the day with DA around 1500 ft and same set up. The next Scottsdale Exotic Car Club day on 2 December will be a notably lower DA if weather history repeats averages. That along with the new Buckshot race fab side pipes installed I'm guessing a couple MPH higher and about .2 quicker in the 1/4. I'll get a video of that one for documentation.

First time out?
Stupid question: Can you take a passenger with you if they have the helmet and you have two roll bars? What do you think this car will do Gordon? That is if I didn't sit there and burn tires all day. I am thinking under 13 for the first time.....

Well I guess I will not be there. I am committed to being in Prescott for the parade and lighting of the tree and roasting of a few combatants..

Wow, Brian and the Fitz both pulling out! I'll be there, even though my trailer buddy can't drag me along. My engine will be thoroughly warmed up after the 75 mile drive. EWOOD, are you bringing the old 'vette out? Mikiec, wanna put out an e-mail? Should be plenty of cool air and hopefully enough sunshine to warm the track. Speed World always does a good job of track prep so there should be some real good times. Sounds like Greg just might be the man to beat, this time. Looking forward to Big Fun and if worse comes to worse, my AAA Plus Plan gives me 100 miles free towing.

Eric, good to hear that you'll come out Saturday. Mesa Dave has offered me the use of his truck and another buddy has a trailer so I might have lucked out on that point. Of course, I don't know why I should be concerned since my car has never broken or let me down. I've had very good luck with my Chevy power, but then, is it really "luck"?

Well, I dunno about luck since my chevy powered Cobra is dead right now. I guess I could look at it as luck since I now get to (?) upgrade to the 540ci that I think a Cobra really needs...
I am going to try to get the Vette out there.
Dave in Mesa: I will be bringing 1 or 2 extra helmets, so you're covered if you still need a loaner...
What time are folks arriving on Saturday?

My girlfriend will be taking video of me I and I'll be shooting some too of the other folks. The Scottsdale Exotic Car Club always has assorted video on the net afterwards.
I'll be there with all motor making attempt to break my own record. I hope the DA is nice and low so I can do it.
It should be a fun time. You guys will get a kick out of some of the exotics with modified engines. The trap speeds are amazing.

Eric, the track opens at 9 so we'll be trying to leave East Bumscrew somewhere between 7 and 7:30. Don't really need to get there too early since I'd like for the temperatures to warm up a bit before trying to get traction. I'm anxious to try my new Mickey Thompson drag radials but I'll also be bringing my old BFG drag radials, just in case the MTs don't do it. The MTs are a couple inches shorter and narrower but everything I've read is very positive. The shorter tires will lower my trap speed, but I don't care too much about that anyway. Just as long as I get there first.
